@Tyranexx Regarding "Rocket Start" for Mario Kart 8, there are two things you can watch for, as MarioLover92 said, you can watch for the 2 to freeze. Or, I watch for the second light. You can't hit the gas any earlier than the second starting light. That's how you maximize your Rocket Start. Whichever works for you, though. I like watching the light, because it's it's very clear if it's on or off, rather than watching for the 2 to freeze.
@wowzers Continuing the conversation here since your original thread was locked for some reason. But as a member since 2009 I whole agree with you and it's sad to see this site going in this direction. I don't know if they feel they need to connect with the younger generation with articles like that. I mean doesn't it matter that said character is non-binary or homosexual or Trans? It's a video game character. But yeah it seems they do put to much focus on details like that rather then on the game itself.
It's good to know that I am not the only one who feels like this and it is sad but in the end its their site and if that's what they want to put as articles that's what they are going to put.

Yeah, I totally agree, and it's risky going into these kinds of talk so I shut up about it, because it's easy to be labelled as bigoted when you make the most remote criticism.
And of course, it's not just video games either but such pandering expands to TV shows and movies as well. The whole thing with Nintendo makes sense less sense though as I don't see why sexuality needs to be discussed in children's games.

And the thing is, people act like these companies like Nintendo and Hollywood studios care about your civil rights - they're profiting off your civil rights, your sexuality, your gender, not celebrating them. I'm not naïve enough to think that Shang Chi was made because Hollywood wanted to celebrate my race as a Chinese. I didn't even bother to watch that film because it looked so boring. lol What was the hook for me to watch as a Chinese? Because there's martial arts? So that automatically makes me, a Chinese, interested? What?! lol That's even more racist!
But I don't want to go too deep into this because I feel like most people care about this stuff because of racial/gender politics, and I ain't got no interest in that.

@NeonPizza Totally agree with you 100%. When I played Mega Man or Castlevania for the first time it didn't even cross my mind what sexuality the hero is what and even is Simon Belmont came out of the closet so to speak it wouldn't make no differences to me. That's why I play video games to not have to deal with social political problems so why would I want to bring that kind of stuff into the video game??
It's just sad now that everyone nowadays has to turn something they love into a platform so to speak. We saw that with pro athletes taking a knee for example, and now games with well this character is Trans. It's not that I am against people speaking out on this sort of subject but there's a time and a place for it.
