My father has passed away, but even before that, my parents and I never really got along. I've always been an isolated person who kept to myself (especially since my parents never really understood me or connected with me either), and nothing has changed much in my 30s. I'm used to that loneliness.
@1UP_MARIO Nice! That's the other 3DS I was talking about. I do have the NES edition GBA SP, and it still works beautifully. It's just that its battery life got shortened after all those years. Yeah absolutely...a Mario edition Switch Lite would be the perfect excuse for me to have two Switches! That, and how they made it easier to "switch" between your primary and secondary consoles.

@MarioLover92 always wanted a gba sp nes edition. Think its the best looking sps. Batteries are really easy to replace on the gba’s and they make ones better than the originals now.

Yeah, but anyway, that's why I stay away from human interaction if I can. I do still interact on forums, of course, but only because it's more moderated, and insensitive and offensive posts are removed most of the time (though some still fall through the filter because they fall under a grey area). And it's also why I'm still having therapies after 20 years since secondary school. It's less of a treatment and more of a crutch to keep me sane and prevent me from going too depressed.
But that's where escapism comes in. When insulated in my world, my zone, I'm free from these worldly troubles people keep trying to get me to care about. I get to experience simulated human emotions in TV shows without the risks of being hurt by them.
My life experience is also why I hate shows about friendships and family because I never had such human connections. I'd much rather have shows talk about important topics like human nature so my life feels more meaningful, even if that feeling is false and merely an illusion. At least if I learned about important topics about philosophy and society, for example, I'd at least feel like I'm worth something with that knowledge. It's also why I prefer darker and more cynical shows because they reflect my worldview, how I see the world and people in general. They're a comfort to me and feel like the only things that understand me.
I've heard countless accounts of real people like me becoming psychopaths because they lack that human connection, having lost touch with humanity. But I guess I never really had such an opportunity, fortunately. Then again, someone who had a perfect upbringing like Bundy turned out the way he did, so who knows anymore with people.
@1UP_MARIO Ohhh, really? I'll have to check them out, then. Thanks! Yeah I do love what they've done with the NES edition. They even made the inside look like the NES controller.

@MarioLover92 Awesome. Afraid I haven't checked out the Splatoon Direct. We were getting a new dryer on Thursday so had to tidy up some things on Wednesday before the delivery came. Like clean around the dryer and make sure the path was easy to get to. Hoping to get around to the Splatoon 3 Direct soon.

I still have hopefully a lot of life to live ahead for me. I'm graduating next year and... Wow life moves fast, I'm not rushing myself and I know what I want to do but I feel intimidated by what's to come.
I don't know if I have that much life to live ahead of me tbh since I don't exactly have the healthiest of diet. But that doesn't faze me much. I'm afraid of the unknown in the afterlife, of course, but I feel like I've become comfortable living life by Dom's motto from Fast and Furious: a quarter mile at a time. Just living in the present, enjoying what pleasure I could find in my life in the moment, comfortable at my own pace without rushing ahead.

@Sunsy Ah OK, gotcha. That's understandable. Hopefully it was all a smooth process, do let me know what you think when you see it. I'm thinking of having Splatoon 3 as a Christmas gift (alongside other games, like Xenoblade 3) since I'm in no rush to get it.

Sigh that’s now three videos that got “processing abandoned” ‘d by youtube. The first two times it was the same long video being abandoned twice in a row, so I’ll try splitting it in two chapters instead… The third one I can’t figure out why because it wasn’t even done uploading, and it’s not even long…
If it fails again I suppose I’ll just let my computer take a break from uploading. With my internet it’s very slow, and I’ve been uploading multiple videos in a row… So perhaps it just needs to rest a few days.
On nicer news, I finally figured out how to create videos in different aspect ratios, which will be cool for retro games.
