@Maxenmus I didn’t know that, learn something new everyday, And I can understand where there coming from a little bit, at least there is a reason for the, not liking said popular thing, because it effects them, not just hating it because it’s popular.
Though I agree, harvest moon isn’t nearly as popular.
@Snatcher Honestly, I used to be like that too when I was younger. But my years of frustration and anger didn't change the market in any shape or form, so I stopped bothering and just accepted the reality for what it is, just simply moving on from movies or games I don't like even if they're beloved by millions. My one angry voice isn't going to change what billions of people want for their next games. The gaming industry and what will be released tomorrow depend on what is popular and profitable, not what the minority wants. I've accepted that.
Nowadays, I'm just a middle-aged man just minding my own business, playing older games only a handful of people still care about.
Yeah, while I think our eshop version would unlock at midnight tonight, I'm getting the physical which should arrive tomorrow, @TheJGG .... Fortunately, our usual post tends to arrive mid-morning, which is better than my previous accommodation where iit was mid-afternoon! I don't stay up to midnight to play games anymore, though
Wahoo! Wave 2's finally coming out in a week! Some of my favorite courses are making it in, too, like Kalimari Desert and Waluigi Pinball. The Tour courses will be brand-new for me as well. What an awesome thing to wake up to.
@TheJGG Great photos once again. I do like how the black and white photos look, they look like they were from a vintage camera, or from long ago.
@seaboyluca I agree with you as well. No one's gonna stop me from playing Mario!
"Give yourself the gift of being joyfully you."
Favorite games: Super Mario 3D World, Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Playing: Hollow Knight
Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@Kermit1 Ouch, even the water. Sounds like a bad meal to have. Yeah, local resturants are the best. I have a sub shop around the corner from where I live, they have the best Italian subs ever!
Never did Hello Fresh, funnily enough we got a coupon for it in the mail yesterday. I haven't worried about it, since I usually plan dinner for mom and myself. If the chicken defrosts in time, chicken burgers for dinner, hopefully. If not, I have a backup plan anyway.
@MarioLover92 Same, I mostly play Nintendo and PC nowadays. I remember playing Sega stuff because I liked Sonic. I was sad when the Dreamcast discontinued, but happy when Sonic came to Nintendo since I didn't have to get a second console to play those games anymore. I have few friends who play games, and they're both cool. Even if they don't play as much as I do, sometimes real life gets in the way.
Yeah, both Trolls World Tour and Trolls Holiday In Harmony loops, thanks to that I fell asleep to Trolls Holiday In Harmony on Christmas Eve last year. A lot of Disney DVDs do it if they have Disney Fast Play, though I do find some of the Sofia the First DVDs "break" after looping a second time (they stop looping and stay at the menu until you press "Play All").
I saw it when it released, and then a day later, the thumbnail was different. I didn't watch it, but I thought to myself "boy, he must have made someone angry if he had to change the thumbnail." Yeah, his videos always give into my love for that stuff. Ooh, I need to see that one, I use to have a Mac back in the day.
@TheJGG They look good, even with the black and white filter on.
Imagine not liking something because it's popular.
I'll never understand that mentality.
Me neither. I remember trying Fortnite back in 2018, only to wind up not enjoying it. Personally, I had more fun playing Apex if we're talking about BR games, and honestly, I play the arenas mode more. Again, Apex is a popular game too.
I see this a lot over the years. Sometimes, something might be popular, like a game, movie, book, etc, because many enjoy it. If someone doesn't like it, then they don't have to bother with it. Using Fortnite as an example, I didn't enjoy it, but I don't go to people who do like it and tell them "stop liking what I don't like." I just play something else that I do enjoy.
Funnily enough, this kind of reminds me of the clickbait I was talking about, lol.
@StarPoint
I have tried to be quiet for the things I dislike but at certain points, when the things I don't like constantly got highlighted, it started to disturb me like the itch on my body.
At certain point, I want to let it out just let other peoples know how was I felt disturbed.
The reason I keep saying I don't like certain popular things because they became a threat for me. I felt intimidated by certain popular things that possibly eclipse the unpopular things that deserve more appreciation than popular things just like how I keep highlighting my hype with not really popular games such as Epic Chef, Youtubers Life 2, Yokai Watch, etc since those games are deserved for more appreciation to be discussed about.
I will wait for someone who shares same interest with me to open a discussion.
@Eel
I'm really sorry if I have to let it out my feeling. 😟
I have tried to be quiet and not responding to the dislike things but at certain points, it became an itch on my body and sometimes I cannot be quiet anymore.
EDIT: I guess I should elaborate. So you think that popular games are threatening your unpopular games, even though you said that you like unpopular games due to how niche they are?
If a game that you like got really popular, would you then dislike the game?
Btw, I want to open some little discussion about the unpopular games here.
What unpopular games you like to discuss about ?
I personally want to discuss about Youtubers Life 2 as I currently playing this game or Epic Chef as I have finished that game two months ago.
Tag my name when you want to discuss with me.
@Anti-Matter let's put it into this perspective....
Imagine you and other people are talking about Dance Dance Revolution.
Then a mysterious Person X comes and, because they do not like games about loud music, they decide to say: "I do not like that game, let's talk about Resident Evil instead!", and then they post gameplay videos and pictures of the monsters from Resident Evil to try and swerve the conversation.
Would you agree with that person? Or call them out and continue talking about Dance Dance Revolution?
Talking about a different topic would be completely ok if other people want to join in. The problem comes from the fact that Person X wants everyone to stop doing what they're doing, and do what Person X wants instead.
@Maxenmus@Sunsy
Of course there are times when something very popular doesn't strike your fancy. Nothing's for everyone after all. But like you both said, when you don't like something, it's best to move on to something else. There's no point to keep telling people you didn't like it and especially not in attacking people who do like it or somehow feel like you're being attacked yourself because people like talking about something you didn't like. I mean... what's that about? It seems to me that someone who acts that way is very insecure about their own likes and dislikes.
@Anti-Matter Try to be known for the things you like, not the things you dislike.
@StarPoint
"So you think that popular games are threatening your unpopular games, even though you said that you like unpopular games due to how niche they are?"
Well, I have experienced this when the niche games like Youtubers Life 2, Epic Chef, etc got reviewed / announced on this website, nobody shown a genuine interest with those games but me. They felt indifferent with those games like what the heck.
"If a game that you like got really popular, would you then dislike the game?"
Of course not since the games I like become popular that means my hype with those games will get boosted and I can discuss more with other peoples who shares same interest with the games I like.
The popular things become a threat for me when I dislike them but other peoples enjoy them. Just like how did peoples keep talking about Smash Bros than ARMS.
