@MarioLover92 Yeah, my cousins mostly had Sega consoles, and my other cousin an N64. So I got to see some Sega Saturn and CD stuff as a kid. My brother had Genesis, I got a Game Gear after learning Sonic was Sega. We still had SNES and Game Boys. Sounds cool, never heard of Galactic Attack.
It worked out for the best. Funny really, I remember wearing a Smurfs sweatshirt when he asked, I should have worn my old Poppy shirt from the first movie and let that be the answer, lol. Thanks, looking forward to it again. Trying to avoid watching Trolls World Tour on DVD until I see it, I want it to be fresh when I go. Actually had on one of the holiday specials the other day. Waiting on one movie is fine since I have the first movie and the two holiday specials on DVD, and the cartoon series via Netflix and Hulu for my Trolls fix.
Yeah, and it's often YouTube recommending them because you're watching similar content, again I got DazzReviews' video recommended just because I wanted to watch some Trolls clips and songs. It reminds me of a meme I once saw, I can't post it here because there's one word in it that breaks Nintendo Life's rules, so I'll describe it.
The thumbnail has the Star Wars, Sonic, Nintendo, RWBY, and Batman logos in them, and says "STOP ENJOYING THINGS!" The title of the video says "That thing you like sucks. Give me views. (PART 1)," and the username is "Some guy you never heard of until YouTube forced this into your feed." The time is the part with the bad word, and why I can't post an image of it.
There is truth to this meme, and I see it often when just looking up stuff I like on YouTube. Movies, shows, games, etc. Amusing part is, I'm not even looking for it, I just wanted to see some clips or learn something about a game I like.
and the username is "Some guy you never heard of until YouTube forced this into your feed."
I wish it's that simple though. I know of quite a few big-name film essayists on YouTube who have a massive following, and when people like them make a negative statement about a film you love ("I don't care about Film X; it sucks and I don't even know whom it's made for"), people like the Nostalgia Critic, Chris Stuckmann, Captain Midnight, etc, etc. it just feels kinda frustrating sometimes when you're the minority voice against the noise of their huge following. Sure, I could just tune them out, but the fact that there were so many people out there who hated this thing I love made me question whether if I was in the wrong after all. It messes with my head. Like, who am I compared to these film experts who have watched decades of films, hundreds or even thousands more films than I ever did? Thankfully, I'm very stubborn and opinionated, so I'd always defend my opinions till the end if I feel I'm in the right.
Speaking of which, I'll defend Alien 3 till my dying breath, especially the Assembly Cut.
Speaking about YouTube, currently I still playing Youtubers Life 2 PS4 as I have to rebuild again my progress due to my previous save data got corrupted. I worked hard again to become famous Youtuber by uploading gameplay videos of certain trendy games, doing interview, live streaming (by playing in DDR style), taking photos for InstaLife, befriending the folks to continue the storyline and getting married with them. The whole gameplay was almost exactly like classic Harvest Moon games minus farming (well, this is Youtubers Life not Farmers Life).
During the storyline, you will meet with several famous Youtubers that based on real Youtubers such as PewDieDie, Crainer, LaurenZside, etc. They will give you some rewards (their expression Cards for reacting and some poster or photo of them) by completing their quests. Some of Reaction cards are based of some meme situation like Sad Gaming (Kitten playing XBOX controller), Drakeposting (Drake meme about his like and dislike), DistractedBoyfriend (A young man got distracted by another woman while he still have his girlfriend), etc.
Cooking myself some instant noodles for the coming dawn. That's what happens when you stay up till 5 in the morning playing SMT SJR - no shops are opened at the moment.
Well, technically not true, since there's a 24/7 supermarket just down my block, but I'm too tired to make the trip.
@Tyranexx Ah OK, gotcha. I should get back to BotW soon...not only have we played Mario Kart fairly recently, but I played Smash Bros. with my other friends as well. I'll let you know when I make more progress.
Ah, I see. At least it sounds a lot better than it was back then. My dad was quite into gaming, especially back then, though he's always been way more into music and sports. It's why he's had a few sports games for the SNES and N64.
Thanks! Yeah, all this time, I wouldn't even think of braking in a racing game, I would just keep going, lol. 200cc is definitely a lot harder.
I noticed that you're playing Kirby's Return to Dream Land, how are you liking it? I always thought it was a solid Kirby game, and I still have my copy.
@Sunsy Nice, that's cool your cousins mostly had Sega consoles. Galactic Attack is a good space shooter for sure, and it's got some awesome music and pixel visuals...it pretty much looks like a souped up SNES game. There's also a gameplay mechanic that lets you shoot those lock-on lasers at enemies below your ship. It actually got a rerelease on modern consoles, such as the Switch. Though, it's kind of expensive for what it is, since its normal price is $30. So you might want to wait for a sale if you want it.
That would have been a great way to answer for sure, lol! Yeah that would be good, watching the other Trolls movies besides World Tour.
Yeah I think that's just how YouTube works, they'd recommend anything that's based on what kind of videos you like watching. Even if it trash talks whatever you like. I think I remember seeing that meme at one point, and yeah, looks like it's on point based on what I see on YouTube, lol. It's why I'm pretty picky on what content I wanna watch. Learning new stuff about my favorite games is more of my speed for sure.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@Maxenmus Definitely, I could imagine someone having their own opinion and getting thumb downed just because their opinion isn't what everyone else is saying. At the end of the day, it's all entertainment and subjective. People are going to have different opinions regardless. Just some are so big that it feels like their word is final say, when it's not the only viewpoint out there.
Try a movie or a game review from someone who understands said series, vs. someone who is just reviewing it and has no interest in it to begin with. Both will have differing opinions, one will have an understanding of the characters and world because they follow it, while the other person may not.
Not to mention there are some who just do it for easy views too. That does happen.
@MarioLover92 Yeah, later on that cousin did get a PS2, and that was it for him and gaming. I still continued to play video games because I love them. Oh cool, I didn't know it had a re-release on Switch.
Yeah, I usually put Trolls World Tour on in my room because the DVD loops, so does the Holiday In Harmony DVD. There's lots to watch with Trolls, it's more than just two movies at this point.
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. It feels rude to me, even though it's the algorithm. All I want is to see my favorite scene from Trolls and then a thumbnail with the word "TERRIBLE" and one of the characters is there. Easy clickbait. I remember years ago seeing a thumbnail that said "Sonic Heroes is HOT GARBAGE" which was changed to "Sonic Heroes is the Ultimate Disappointment (to me)" with "to me" in small letters. Man, clickbait on stuff you like is annoying. I guess whatever it takes to get them views. For the record, I never clicked on either.
Oh cool, so you know the meme I'm talking about.
I like gameplay videos that show me what the game is like, or listening to someone who specializes in specific games. Like LGR for classic DOS games. Even if I don't always agree, he never clickbaits and has some knowledge on said subject.

Greetings guys, I write to you from base camp at 3300m. Hiked six hours to get here, and my feet are absolutely dead thanks to the path being all rocks uphill. I believe I caught altitude sickness a little, my breathing’s terrible and my heart feels like it’s choking me. Even normally standing it was clocking 140bpm. It’s no joke.
But I’m here, happy to be alive… may be tough submitting though. There’s a lot of rope work and steep slopes, and my knees are injured.
@TheJGG First time with altitude like that? Yeah, I felt pretty crappy the first day or two when I went to Colorado for skiing. (3300m is almost 10,000 feet (for any US people reading). That's up there, alright!)
Regarding your video essay, your voice kind of sounds similar to mine. So, I think you sound normal. Good writing, too, by the way.
@Anti-Matter Yeah, that sucks. It's usually enough to put me off from playing even my favorite games for a while since I hate redoing the same thing over again.

@BruceCM It’s just started to rain… we’re supposed to push for the top in an hour. That could jeopardise it! But I’ve made it very far with an injured knee so anything’s am achievement!
@WoomyNNYes Actually this ain’t my first mountain. I did Mt Kenya twice a few years ago. Both times I got sick and once I actually got to the top. Second time round I was happy to turn back. It’s a little lazy for not having the sheer bloody mindedness of other better climbers but I like living.
Glad you enjoyed my video though, I put a lot of effort into it. Good the audio was good too, and that you liked the writing! I hadn’t done this properly for a while so recording voiceover took lots of takes… it paid off since you and others enjoyed it!
Hey random question guys, have any of you ever sent in your joycons to Nintendo for repairs? If so how was the process and how long did it take? I've had 2 joycons that have been drifting for a long time and I've been thinking about sending them in.
Welp finally bit the bullet and bought two digital taiko (for actual play not the video game series). Can’t wait for them to show up, especially since they can take the place of two taiko types (in addition to the type I already play primarily) I want to get better at but would get shot by my neighbors if I did so.
Taiko is good for the soul, Hoisa!

@seaboyluca Let's see, I answered Kermit1 on how I became a big Trolls fan, and MarioLover92 and I were talking about people who clickbait on YouTube. I posted it in the movie thread, but watched Monsters University for the first time.
