@Tyranexx haha some good choices. One for block making and the other for a barrier around you. Not bad at all. They may come in handy one day at a grocery store lol.
@ogo79 - That picture is exactly how I look in my mind, but in reality; the only thing I share with him is the chain, except I have two of them. Guess I was chatting with someone else on MySpace in the middle aughts then.

A little update on the Japanese snacks I've eaten over the past few weeks.
First up an instant noodle bowl that you're supposed to eat cold!
Pretty ingenious, it had a peel off slotted area on the lid (on the opposite end where you open it up) to drain the hot water after cooking. Afterwards you fill it with cold water, drain it again, and repeat a few times until the cooked noodles are cold. The noodles themselves were good (you mix in the ingredients after cooling them off), but although it's a fun novelty I think I prefer my noodles hot.
Next up is "Soup de Pasta", a cup clearly marketed as more of a western style take on the concept. It featured Spaghetti style noodles & Cod roe (the little red bits).
Definitely not one of my favorites. The seasoning mixed up into a hot watery take on a cream based sauce, it had a pungent fishy odor (as someone who generally likes seafood, this isn't a complaint I've made before), and there weren't many noodles. To my surprise after the stink, it actually tasted pretty okay, but not something I'll purposefully get again.
Next up is a cup of "Kitsune Udon", which is of the same brand as the "Tanooki Soba" I posted last time. It featured fried Tofu.
Just like it's predecessor it tasted delicious, with a rich, almost sweet flavor (which I think is from the Nori, now that I paid attention).
Next up is a pack of onion flavored ramen.
Nothing particularly standout, but they tasted pretty good.
Finally, a bag of Evangelion branded potato chips. They come in a few different variants, but I got the Unit 0/Rei design in my box.
I think they were supposed to be some sort of special flavor, but they seemed to be just regular potato chips to me. Tasted good, just nothing special or exotic.
Sorry for the long post. I had intended to post these as I ate them and just got behind in actually doing it, lol. I know it's probably not that interesting a topic.
@Tyranexx - Maybe I’ll just sleep through it and become Bimmystiltskin. Home school is going pretty well, we got a taste of it starting last March when school was canceled, and we still did at least a couple school type days a week all summer to try and stay ahead. There’s no replacing the real thing though because I’m of the opinion that the most important skill we learn in elementary is socialization, and unfortunately, that just can’t be duplicated. I’ve been enjoying the first party game respite as well, working on the backlog makes me feel better when it’s time to buy new games again!
@bimmy-lee Looks like you're ahead of the curve on Bimily and Bim Jr.'s homeschooling. They say we learn something new every day, and I think that's especially important for a child. Kids are like sponges; they readily and (depending on the age) willingly absorb just about everything. Agreed that socialization is very important for kids. That's something that we can emulate and pseudo-replace with technology, but that still isn't as great as the real thing.
My backlog respite is gonna come to an end, depending on Nintendo's plans for the rest of the year. XD Normally I'd wait on the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection, but as it's limited release I'll likely pick it up soon. Still on the fence about launch day though lol. At least I can comfortably hold off on about everything else as long as they don't surprise drop something from a franchise I like. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is close despite being a spin-off, but I feel I owe it to myself to play through BotW first. XD
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
...thats my mother yer talking about. look who has bad taste

@Tyranexx - Yep, we’re kind of strict about screen time, so the thought of doing a school year on the iPad didn’t work for us. My daughter’s school is doing in person learning (for now), but the restrictions made us leery. Pretty rough to tell an affectionate six year old to keep her distance when all she wants to do is hug everyone. Parents are in a tight spot no matter what they choose to do. 2020!
I’m in for 3D collection and AOC, though I’m much more excited about the latter. The collection is something to share with Bim Jr and Bimily. I’m honestly jazzed for some BOTW back story. No doubt, it’s one to play after you’ve experienced the story in BOTW, so you can safely backlog that one until you’ve put your time in calamity infected Hyrule. I really hope this is the future of the Hyrule Warriors games, tied in and filling in the backstory of the mainline games. Love that premise. I’ve been trying to knock out indies in my backlog while continuously playing Streets of Rage 4, what have you been playing? I know you have an amazing backlog of RPGs and adventure games.
So in recent weeks I've started seeing the word "simp" pop up. I had to ask my friend what it meant because lord knows I avoid most social media like the plague and spent the last 5 years in a country where English is not the first language. My friend explained it as an insult to men who apparently degrade themselves or grovel before women they like. But more and more I've started seeing it used toward anyone, man or woman, who really likes another person and is nice to them, or does anything for them.
Is this how far western culture has fallen at this point? If you like someone, people insult you? What? Now we're supposed to be cold or rude to one another? If I like a girl and buy her dinner, does that make me a "simp"? If she treats me to dessert does that make her one?
What the bloody hell is wrong with people?
I think I get the original idea, when I was a teenager, I used to hear it called "being whipped" by your significant other. But now it's starting to seem like anyone treating their partner nicely is apparently something to insult and degrade. If that's the new normal, then I really don't want to be normal.
And this is coming from someone who believes marriage is a failed institution. And I still find this idea that we should insult and degrade people who like one another to be repulsive.
Is this just a thing now? I really hope I'm misunderstanding what I've been seeing lately.
@Heavyarms55 You heard it right. SIMP is someone who donates to girl streamers
No seriously, maybe the word is used in a wrong way now but it is targeted at those miserable people that would do anything for a girl just for the chance to lick her boots.
Many people take it too far and say for example that I am a SIMP for saying that I love my girlfriend Which is funny in a way
Simping is waaaay to common there days as I see people that are far to desperate for any kind of relationship. It is pathetic.
usually it means "simpleton"
simp vs pimp=whos stronger.
its a mental thing to say at the least in deeper forms.

@Zuljaras I have never actually seen that sort of thing. What I have seen, is your second example, about saying someone is a simp for loving their significant other.
And I find this sort of thing, attacking people for that, to be repulsive behavior.

I often see the term being used against people that only ever express overly positive comments for a particular person, even in cases were that person may be in the wrong.
Like for example...
Person 1 does or says something wrong/problematic, either by accident or not.
Person 2 calls them out.
Person 3 chimes in to say: "don't listen to them, you're perfect and they're wrong and I love you💜💜💜💜💜💜"
On the internet, is usually men "doting" on women, but it's not limited to that.
Lately on twitter though, it's being used to counter any argument in favor of the current problematic female twitch streamer of the week.
@Zuljaras I mean what you describe sounds bad, and I am sure such people do exist, but that's not remotely what I have seen the word used for.
What I keep seeing it used for is an insult for people who care for their significant other, more often used towards men, but towards women too.
It strikes me as, if not a new level of lowness, at least a new type.
It sounds like what lonely people who are jealous of other people's relationships would use as an insult.
But if this is the norm now, if we are supposed to mock and laugh at people in happy relationships then I am just so frakking done with this society and culture.
This is the feather landing on the hood of the car teetering on the edge of a cliff that was my faith in Western culture.
Let it fall. Then maybe we can rebuild something decent from the ruins.
