Between last night and this morning, was playing an old Jimmy Neutron game on GameCube, Jet Fusion to be specific. Now I'm full of nostalgia thanks to memories playing this game and in a good mood. How's the chit-chat thread doing?

@Sunsy I'm doing pretty good as well. Been playing New Horizons and Xenoblade Chronicles recently. (I lucked out and got the collector's edition on Nintendo's online store!) I did some decorating on my island, as well

@MarioLover92 Very lucky and great to hear you're doing well. Nice, I was playing New Horizons for a bit with a friend last night, lately on Switch it's mostly been racing for me, with an event in Asphalt 9 and picked up Burnout Paradise a few weeks ago.
@Apportal Heh, I kind of meant people who visit the thread on how they're doing.
@Sunsy That's awesome. One of the things I made on my NH island was a Mario Kart track, complete with Mario's sprite from SMK! I made a Peach themed tea area, as well. I would love to make a Rosalina themed star area too, but sadly I don't have any crescent moons or those big star bits.
Speaking of racing games, I've been wanting to pick up CTR: Nitro-Fueled on Switch since it's on sale on the eShop. I did hear it runs great on Switch.

@MarioLover92 Very nice, I've been playing NH on and off for the passed few months. I haven't customized too much, but I did enjoy the fireworks last night. I still feel I'm really early on. Not counting a copy of Amiibo Festival I picked up for a few bucks, this is actually the first Animal Crossing game I got since the GameCube one (my friend mailed me a copy as a surprise).
If you get CTR, hope you enjoy it. I got it as a Christmas gift last year, it's a lot of fun. Really challenging, my brother and I were trying to remember how we beat this back in the day, haha. He had the original on PlayStation.

@Sunsy Cool, I didn't get into Animal Crossing until much later. First one I played was New Leaf, then I played Pocket Camp, and finally, New Horizons. I like the fireworks update too, some of my fireworks were power-ups from Super Mario Bros. 3. It kinda looked like the opening cutscene of Super Mario 3D World, and I love that game
Thanks! Glad you liked it too. I still have my PlayStation copy, as well - it's probably my favorite kart racer that's not Mario Kart.

@Sunsy
You played ACNH too? 😀
Have you seen some of my ACNH moments screenshots here?
While i was playing, i took some photos and recorded some moments.
@MarioLover92 That's awesome. I remember what sold me on the game were the silly Animal Crossing commercials that parodied that old MTV show, The Real World. Just thought they were funny and cute. Also, it sold me on the GBA-to-GC link for the island.
I remember picking up Amiibo Festival a few years back for a couple of bucks, contrary to popular opinion, I found it relaxing to play and enjoyed it for a bit. Plus, it gave me Isabelle and Digsby for cheap.
I like Team Sonic Racing and CTR in addition to Mario Kart, though the previous Sega and All-Stars Racing entries were a treat to someone who remembers some of Sega's series outside Sonic (I have a Dreamcast as well).
@Anti-Matter Yeah, a friend gave me a copy of it in the mail. I've been playing on and off. I think I've may have seen them a few times peeking in the thread.
@Sunsy I did know of the first one on the GameCube via Nintendo Power way back in 2002. At the time, I remember thinking it was too cutesy (yeah, I had a rather naive mindset when I was young) and I wasn't comfortable with how the game worked in real time. But it all grew on me in the end. At least with the ones that I've played, they're really relaxing and down-to-earth. Plus the beauty of Animal Crossing is that everything's done at your own pace. The adorable art style helps too - especially in New Horizons where the visuals really pop I've never played Amiibo Festival - personally I think I'll stick with Mario Party but glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah same here - Mario Kart will always be my favorite, but CTR and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed are also really good. I like Team Sonic Racing quite a bit, too - probably the most underrated kart racer that I've played.

@MarioLover92 It was pretty cool how Animal Crossing worked in real time back then. Then I did the fatal mistake of shutting off without saving... thanks Resetti. Thanks, also, that reminds me, I've been playing mini-games in Super Mario Party on and off. Really like the game.
I agree, other than someone I know, I don't see many play or talk about Team Sonic Racing. I consider it to be one of the more underrated Sonic games next to Sonic Riders and Sonic Battle (I love this one personally).

@Sunsy Ah, good old Resetti. That happened to me in New Leaf, that guy would yap on and on and on. Really like Super Mario Party as well. It's a nice return to the style of the older games, and many of the minigames are good fun. I just wish there were more boards and that they were more creative, but other than that I had a good time with it! My favorite one is Mario Party 6, but I also like 4, 5, 7, 8, DS, and of course Super. Didn't play too much of the N64 ones, as strange as it may sound.
And yeah I did like Sonic Riders quite a bit too. Same with Zero Gravity. Never played Free Riders though - I never had a Kinect and I didn't play too much 360 games, either. Last time I played Sonic Battle, that was years ago. But I do remember liking it. I started to really get into Sonic when SA2B came out.

Hey guys and gals, it's your resident Mad Titan here, playing catch up from 11 pages back...
Sorry for the no-shows and late replies. Apparently, adjusting to being an employee again, and having to get out of bed at ungodly hours has made more of an impact on me than I expected it to do, so my spare time is largely spent wanting to do absolutely nothing but watch a little TV, and take naps in between...
I'm glad the heat wave is finally starting to disappear, with temperatures going back to normal, because that definitely wasn't helping either...
I know that @ThanosReXXX loves Sega so I have hope!
Well, love is a big word, in any capacity, by the way...
All kidding aside though, I've only become a real Sega appreciator ever since the Dreamcast, which to me is still the perfect "1:1 arcade to home" machine, even more so because it was actually affordable, unlike the other arcade to home machine, the Neo Geo, which was simply far beyond my financial reach at the time...
Either way, back in the 16 bit days, I wasn't even a console gamer, because I was firmly in camp Commodore Amiga back then, and rightly so, because both the SNES and the Megadrive/Genesis couldn't even come close to what these babies could do.
But then came the N64, and I was completely sold on the idea of moving over to console territory, and I've never looked back since. The fact that there weren't any real home computers anymore after the Amiga A1200 also helped a bit...
just ordered my first bundle from lukiegames. I know @thanosrexxx uses them often
Haha, well, often... I've used them a couple of times, but every time they delivered as promised, with good service and pretty decent quality stuff as well, so I never have any qualms recommending them to others.
Good choice of games, by the way, and Perfect Dark especially, which is basically a must-have title for every N64 owner, because it truly shows off what the system was capable of, in combination with the Expansion Pak.
Slowly dying out. I feel like it’ll be dead in a couple months
Ha, no offense, but you're too short of a member on here to even be able to make any sensible comment on that...
All kidding aside, though, the Chit-Chat thread always endures, because it's by and large the only thread where people of various tastes and origins can remain mostly civil, unlike some of the article comments sections and more specific forum topics, so it's kind of an oasis on here, and people keep returning to it, even if they've been away for quite a while.
@Wavey84 You're not alone. I agree with most of what you said. YouTube is the ultimate distractor. I always steal myself to not look at that column on the right while watching a video, but I nearly always do, and then I scroll down, open another video in a new tab for later, and another one, and another one, and another one, and before you know it, I'm down in the deepest, weirdest recesses of the site, watching videos that are in no way related to the video that I started out with, and nearly my entire evening is gone.
I can definitely relate to the kid in the candy store comparison. It's the very reason that I don't like services like Netflix or Game Pass on Xbox: on the one hand, the convenience can be nice, but on the other hand, the disposability and the overkill of all the media available to you makes it seem far less worthwhile and/or special, so I have no need for stuff like that in my life. Unfortunately, it has already infected me partially, in regards to me sometimes wanting to binge-watch stuff, because often times, I can't muster the patience anymore to wait another week or even a couple of days for the next episode in a series that I'm watching...
