@Knuckles-Fajita Wow, which model PS4 is that? It runs hot, but I didn't think it compared terribly differently to the 1X. I've had OG 4 and Pro, but not Slim.
@HobbitGamer I know in general the PS4 original designs get hot pretty easily.
But yeah, it gives off so much heat it actively heats the room which is GREAT in Winter but not in abnormal weather where I want to do PC intensive stuff.
@Knuckles-Fajita Dang, I used to burn 2 OG's in the room at once....... PS3 Phat on the other hand, that thing was a furnace! But it's not like the X or pro exactly run cool. Your PC is throwing way more heat than the PS.
@NEStalgia Yes, my PC IS throwing way more heat out.
Especially when streaming where CPU and GPU usage is at a high. I expect that.
But with the other systems I own, PS3 Slim, PS2, Switch and lower, temperature is obviously not as big a factor in those machines.
But with the PS4, it is. In this abnormal weather, my room is 28C when it's 21C outside. So add on a full pelt PC and then add the excess heat from PS4, is it a shock my PC throws warnings? No other system I own does that obviously.
Therein lies the problem though. Yes my PC is MOST of the heat. But its also what I need to live stream. And if I want to live stream from my PS4, it needs to be cooler.

@Knuckles-Fajita PS3 slim dialed down the heat massively. If you want heat, try a phat PS3! Even OG 4 doesn't compare. Part of the problem was that thin vent they had in the back and the BBQ grill dome lid to make sure the middle stayed nice and tender. Original X360 baked pretty well too. I recall the popularity of intercoolers for both machines (and some of them melting.... )
But I know the horrors of running any of these things + a PC in a hot room!
How about long cables and keeping the PS4 elsewhere. The PC is hard to move but the PS4 just needs HDMI out, power, and/or anything you need for the capture cabling if not just HDMI.
@NEStalgia I could but it would be finding a power supply and keeping it near the TV to avoid any capture card feed hiccups that tend to happen on PS4.
So I'd need my PS4 somewhere with a HDMI going to the Capture Card. The Capture Card remains connected to my PC via USB-3.0 and the TV via HDMI.

HDMI is fickle, though so far I haven't found Switch, PS4, or X1 to be more finnicky (all are worse than BD players IMO), but I usually suspect cable quality if you can't get a good 50+ft run out of it (unless you're doing 4k/60Hz/HDR/Deep Color, which I doubt you're doing from an OG PS4 for web feed ) Of course finding good cables is another mess. In the US we have a few suppliers of broadcast grade cables but they're relatively expensive, and shipping to UK would be cost prohibitive for heavy cable. HDMI's downfall is those POS connectors.
Man I just ate 1 1/2 double meat burgers with bacon, a large order of fries, a large order of onion rings and a large Dr pepper at Carl's Jr. We went out of town and never tried that place before. We're on the road for at least 2 more hours which means the toilet paper is at least 2 more hours away as well. Damn you carl

I also stopped at "He does wear pants", as i know it to be a horrible lie and thus anything else said afterwards is necessarily suspect. I have known @ogo79 for years, and never once during that time has he ever worn any variety of pants or pants-type garments.

I never even watch ice skating. I find it dull and a chore to watch. It's like NASCAR on ice, with skates instead of cars...
And the French weren't fashionable late, they just played lazy, crap football/soccer, with only a handful of good moments, while the Belgians truly gave it their all, but ultimately got no reward for all their effort, so the French got the better deal, but definitely NOT deserved. Arrogant bunch...
