My favorite game in the series is still S3&K. The levels, music, 2D art... To me it's just a perfect platformer. Sonic CD is a close second to me.
I also really like the Advance series and Rush. Rush 1 is still my favorite portable Sonic to this day.
I didn't like the first adventure game, but the second was a great improvement to me.
Heroes had some poor pacing and very frustrating glitchy rails, but I'd still say I liked it. It had it's moments.
Unleashed could have been better, but It's much more polished than the previous games. The night levels could've been shorter and having to earn medals to unlock new levels is annoying.
I love Colors. I still haven't finished it but I love the levels, music and the wisps are a great gameplay element.
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
Generations and Colors will always remain my favorites until Sega hopefully reveals something like those games. Like a sequel or something. And maybe even better.
@Meowpheel Thanks! Wait, what kind of memories?
Also, I bought the Sonic Bundle, booted up Sonic Adventure, and I gotta say, I don't remember the Chaos being so...jiggly. Their appendages just frail to-and-thro when you move them.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
Ah, Lockstep...I remember I had quite a troubling time trying to "Perfect" that one. But finally got it because thank goodness they didn't count the "snaps" in the DS version.
@Blue_Blur Surprisingly, Lockstep 2 (for me at least) wasn't too bad. Because unlike the first it had a slow beat that you could easily step along too...or maybe THAT'S what made it hard.
@Dark-Luigi: Yeah, Lockstep 2 was quite a bit slower. I remember having a bit more trouble on the second one because of the slower beat. For some odd reason, I usually do better with faster beats than slower beats. Maybe it's because I'm so used to Sonic games! XD And yeah, I'm glad the snaps didn't ruin the perfect run, either!
@Blue_Blur I wish I had your sense of optimism for Sonic really......I just want a proper Sonic game honestly..... I love Colors & Generations. Sure, its basically unleashed but so what? I'd rather have that mechanic with fresh level designs over and over again instead of doing something that's downright mediocre.
Sonic games have something that I know that even if Mario tries, it just won't work out. Its speedy gameplay, memorable music & Level design.
Also, I miss the edgy Knuckles....you know the one that wasn't actually dumb?
I find it odd that SEGA can't make the effort to port Skies of Arcadia on the 3DS. it can obviously emulate Dreamcast graphics....not to mention that the 3DS has a huge market for RPGs.
Today's simultaneously Sonic 25th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of Mario 64! I have a lot of nostalgia for both so since I have nothing better to do I'm going to revisit Mario 64 and some classic Sonic games, and personal favorites like CD and the Adventure games.
