I'm definitely not sold on it. Raimy's Spider-Man absolutely nailed the origin story. I'm not sure why we need another one.
Casue Sony wants to make as much money off of the franchise untill it goes back to Marvel.
..This is from Marvel. Sony has nothing to do with this one.
Incorrect. The film is in fact a Sony production, via Columbia Pictures, in association with Marvel (like the previous trilogy). http://www.theamazingspiderman.com/
And that is part of the reason for the reboot-ness — Sony's film rights would have expired if they didn't produce another movie, and Raimi, et al weren't keen on working on another one.
I think it looks perfectly acceptable, I guess what I mean is, aside from the shift in tone I don't really understand the point. I hope the actual "origin" part of the story is brief so we can jump into the main plot.

@Kid_A You call that CGI acceptable? There's no way I'll pay to watch that.
@Mickeymac The Spectacular Spider-Man's ultrasimple art style is just something you have to get used to. I used to watch the 90's Spider-Man show and enjoyed it, but critics and fans alike will tell you that Spectacular is the best Spider-Man cartoon ever made. I know you find the art style revolting, but looks can be deceiving.
The Spectacular Spiderman is definitely the best animated show I've ever watched. I usually hate them too. I'm really bummed it got cancelled... It was so fantastic, and I can't believe they ended it on such a cliffhanger. Poor Pete and Gwen.

That sums it up pretty well. The only Marvel movies done by Marvel studios is Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and of course Avengers. Xmen the movie rights are owned by Fox right now Sony as stated has the Spiderman movie rights. I think its Universal has Ghostrider, and I think Fox has the Fantastic Four movie rights. That is the reason for now anyways that Spiderman and Wolverine cant make cameos in the Avengers movie cause the other studios wont let Marvel.
In fact both Hugh Jackman and Ian Mckellan (Wolverine and Mageneto) were both set to do cameos in Captain America but Fox stepped in and said they couldnt cause they own the Movie rights to the Xmen characters, so Marvel had no choice but to scrap those scenes.

You're not willing to put up with less than stellar CG, yet you're willing to put up with Spectacular Spider-Man's art style? Wow, just wow.
Anyways, I don't put up with bad art in any form, so I'll just have to miss out. Besides, I still gotta read the comics.
1. the 90s cartoon was amazing, despite constantly dealing with horrible executive meddling. 2. don't compare the awesome Teen Titans to Spectacular Spiderman's art. That art is ugly.
@Mickeymac It's one thing to pay for a blockbuster movie, and it's another to watch a Saturday-morning cartoon on TV. Also, I don't think it's terrible. I know you do, and yes, it's simplistic, but it works for the show and in my opinion it's fine.
Also art direction is different than sheer quality--it's not the style of the CGI that's the problem, it's just how unrealistic and jarring it is compared to the live action parts of the movie. It's easier to disagree on style than technical proficiency.
I didn't mean that the CGI was perfectly acceptable (even though it is). I meant that the movie itself looks perfectly acceptable. It just doesn't look "amazing" to me yet.

Oh, sorry. I can't really think about any other part of the trailer than the CGI right now; I'll watch it again when I see Captain America on Saturday.
Vampires are meant to be Brutal killers not boyfriends for insecure little emo chicks.
What? No. Vampires are meant to be seductive and erotic. Because that was a thing of fear back in the day when Bram Stoker wrote Dracula. The concept of drinking blood was, in original vampire myths, metaphoric for intercourse.
The violence, as such, was always secondary.
On topic, I feel it's way too early for a reboot of a film series that only happened a decade ago. And I'm pissed off that we still haven't seen Carnage yet.

I agree Waltz but I am glad that they went with the Lizard at least and didnt remake Green Goblin or Doc Ock.
Anyone know if Jameson is going to be in this one and whos playing him cause I thought the one in Raimis Trilogy was just perfect.

So how and why are we allowing Vampires to suck the life out of a thread about your Neighborhood Friendly Spider Man? Isn't it time we get on topic people?
Anyway, I think Lizard is one of the best Spider Man villains.

No Jameson, No Mary Jane and some scrawny Twink playing Spider-man. Yeah that'll be a blockbuster no doubt.
