This topic is where members can come together and discuss about their favorite games developed or published by Square Enix. I will start this FC off by discussing about Chrono Trigger being on the VC. I downloaded it yesterday and I am think about playing it today (I have beaten the DS version awhile back). It is not too often that I replay RPGs, but Chrono Trigger is so awesome that I would probably replay it infinite times.
Also, I have been playing The 3rd Birthday. It is fun and unique to say the least, and it plays like a cross between an action RPG and a third person shooter
yay for squeenix. but i think ff is going downhill. 12 was...eh. i didn't finish it. my friend, who's a huge ff fan, bought 13 and said it was extremely linear and not that good. i miss the medieval settings of 1-6

Technically speaking, the Final Fantasy series is a very flawed one. I wouldn't say it's gone downhill, it just has different flaws than it used to have, flaws you may not be as willing to overlook, or even see as positives. I think the reason the FF fanbase is so divided is because every game is so flawed, and there isn't one game in the series that's truly great. (though if you ask me, FF12's only flaw besides its bland color scheme was simply the fact that it wasn't a Final Fantasy game - it had far more akin to Vagrant Story)
Just for the record, I actually really liked FFXIII. Yes it was linear, but that linearity kept the focus on the story, which in my mind was brilliantly written with excellent characters whom actually evolve as the story progresses. I also loved the futuristic-yet-still-mystical setting. It was the combat I never took a liking to. It was just too fast-paced, and often came down to finding cheap techniques and exploiting them (I'm well aware that other Final Fantasies have that same problem and I find fault with it every time).
Also, I'll never understand why people take to the Medievel setting so much. There's a reason they were called the Dark Ages, people. Not to mention it's so overused that I find other settings extremely refreshing.
Square: Makes the Final Fantasy games, and others stuff Enix: Make the Dragon Quest games

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
The only Final Fantasy game I have beaten was Final Fantasy IV. I have a copy of Final Fantasy V Advance though, and I might give that game another try after I have beaten Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.
@alexbelmont i played chrono trigger around the same time i played ff5 and i remember plenty of that though. i just watched all of the cutscenes on youtube though, i think i may have a problem with recollection, not retention
