I don't mind swearing in some games, but in the BG&E2 trailer there was so much of the same word it just felt unimaginative and immature. The original game was mature in its themes, while still being fantastical and appropriate for kids to play. There are probably kids who enjoyed the original but won't be able to play the sequel because the age rating will be higher (probably Pegi 16 at least), which seems quite unfair.

Swearwords / vulgar language have been fine in the West for ages, but when it comes to the revealing of skin of a video game character...that's totally not done! One is public, the other a preference (private)...

Interesting point. The difference, I think, is that the strongest swear words were considered unacceptable (in games) until the ratings came in during the '90s (after which you could say "It's a PEGI 18 so why shouldn't it have swearing?" etc). Personally, it's not my cup of tea and I generally find it adolescent, but there you go.

Showing skin, on the other hand, was never considered wrong until there was a political movement against it. No one batted an eyelid at a scantily-clad female character, or thought it warranted a "rating".

I think that swear words and vulgar language if used in a product like a movie, or a book,or a game, exactly like they are used in real life makes the movie/book/game feel weird, unrealistic, stupidly excessive. We don't perceive books, movies and games the same way as we perceive everyday life, sometimes there are books or movies that need vulgar and explicit content to be coherent and beliveable but you always have to be aware of what you are doing and of the impact it will have on the final product. If you remove those explicit content from it it will feel like something is missing, like there is something wrong, but if you are not able to understand when to stop your book/movie/game will become a worthless parody of itself
