Topic: Smosh

Anyone here fans of them?

I loved their Zelda rap video. Mixing hip-hop with the 8-bit Zelda theme was surprisingly well done, and Ganondorf's dubstep music was sweet.

Smosh is pretty good, they're one of the few channels I still watch. I love most of their videos, especially the ones featuring Nintendo characters but sometimes they can be more stupid than funny. The Zelda rap in particular was top notch, I've watched that video 10 times at least.

I like their pokemon vids and what if ??? were real vids. But all of them are awesome.

Also, who watches ian's channel?

I've watched like two videos from them in the past year or so. I used to watch them avidly, and what I saw was good. I just kind of stopped watching over time; Not because of a quality decrease, I guess I just got bored of it.

Although I can say that a Zelda "rap" and a Ganondorf "dubstep" sound particularly... Vomit inducing. Probably because I hate both of those "genres" of music.

Well dubstep is basically electronic music mixed to a hip-hop beat with heavy basslines.

I'm not a fan of rap either but it added to the comedic value; well, for me anyways.

I regularly watch smosh too, they're videos are great. I don't normally like rap and I hate dubstep but their Zelda video was pretty good.

No, dubstep is someone abusing the "BWUA BWUA BWU-BWUAAAAA" sound-clip on their electronic keyboard.

OT: To me, Smosh is an interesting person. I want to think he's trying to be so bad that he becomes a parody of terrible-yet-popular Youtubers (specifically Fred and Ray William Johnson), but I'm not quite sure if he's in on the joke (of if that's even the joke).

FRED is just an annoying little kid. Smosh's jokes are actually witty and funny, and the dialogue is clever. (By the way, Smosh is the name of the comedy duo, not a single person).

And if you want really good parodies, may I suggest Freddie W?

I have to agree with you on the dubstep thing, even though I very much enjoy listening to dubstep.

Also RWJ came after Smosh.

I know of the video you speak of, Tendoboy. I've watched it 4 times today (before first reading this topic in the forums, of course).

And my favourite bit of all is the dubstep section. I couldn't care less for dubstep before I heard the track, but it sounds pretty good to me.

Also, I'm quite fond of the sampling used - especially the ding-ding low on health SFX when Gannondorf is revealed.
