Pros Access to big name IPs like Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, YuGiOh, Pro Evolution Football, Contra and Dance Dance, Goemon and Silent Hill. A diverse company involved in other markets like health clubs and slot machines which are still profitable. Would also acquire Hudson Soft as part of any deal. Cons Video gaming division often delivers games over budget leading to the companies sometimes poor financial position. The loss of Hideo Kojima. I would be all for a deal to happen. Nintendo would be investing for the next generation but in the short term they could help the WiiU by porting titles like the Metal Gear HD collection, Pro Evo, the back catalog available on the V, theoretically Silent Hills could come to WiiU and a game like YuGiOh which could have a short turn around. I think a 2D castlevania on 3DS would work well also. Next generation Konami could have a whole load of exclusives ready at launch and beyond helping to diversify the library and reduce software droughts. With Nintendo bringing its QoL platform to market Konamis range of health clubs and experience in the industry could prove vital in promoting the product and helping it enter the mainstream. The slot machine and arcade industry is big money in Japan. Nintendo could benefit from the steady income provided by this. The loss of Hideo Kojima will mean the metal gear franchise will be entering a new stage and it will be hard to predict what will happen with it next. The company has a poor attitude to budgets. Nintendo might be better off avoiding the potential fall out that comes from imposing a new way of operating. What do you guys think??

Nintendo doesn't need more IPs, though, and no one company could release so many games on two platforms that they could avoid a drought. I don't think it'd be that good an idea. Maybe getting some western studios to expand their market would be a good idea, but I think Ninty's set in Japan...

I completely agree, but that is normally the thought process behind these kind of discussions. People want Nintendo to have Castlevania or Mega Man IPs and they want more software being pumped out by Nintendo, without realizing the fact that Nintendo doesn't pump out software is why their games are generally great.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Nintendo have enough of there own IPs butthere cconsoles lack variety. Nintendo need to provide more and more themselves to make up for the lack of third party support. Can you imagine Nintendo trying to make a serious football game like Pro Evo?? If Nintendo want to appeal to more people they need diversity. I wouldn't want a larger Nintendo to be pumping out multiple releases from each IP every generation just to have a busier release schedule and have the time to spend on other second tier IPs rather than struggling to have just its big IPs squeezed into a generation.
