I got the first book & 18th book in the series to try it out. Has anyone read the book series & know if it's any good? Books in other series I've read in the past have been mary kate & ashley Olsen adventures & Mary Kate & Ashley sweet 16 book series granted I read those in high school years agobut was obsessed with getting every book in both series for a while back then. Other book series I've read is Dr. Slump manga novels & Deadtime series books. In a couple of month's I'll be finished with Tales Of 6th grade muppet. I have a very unique curiosity when it comes to reading different books series. Just curious on other people's opinions of Diary of a wimpy kid book series? I know it's popular because keep seeing different Diary of a wimpy kid books in stores over the year's but first time really getting into the series. As a millennial I have the funny feeling I might be to old for the book series just really curious to see if it has good storylines etc. Thank you for taking the time to read this. 🤷♀️✌️
I’ve read most of them, but I don’t really remember enough to say if they’re good or not. They’re largely books made for kids, so some of their humor might seem corny to teens/adults. But there are times when I’m in the mood to read these books, and their jokes aren’t Sonic movie levels of terrible.
Uhhh. A YouTuber by the username: CrowRanaBurger keeps talking about Diary Of A Wimpy kid book series like it's the greatest book series ever released then after watching a few of his videos just made me curious to check out the book series in general since he's done several videos on the book series. I have the 1st book & 18th book in the series to start with does it matter if there read in order or read at random? Lol. Thanks for the advice~ 🤷♀️✌️
CrowRanaBurgers YouTube channel where I saw some of his diary of a wimpy kid book videos:
I recommend reading the books in order. Certain events that significantly impact a character are mentioned in later entries, so it's helpful to understand the context.
I really enjoyed these books when I was a kid; they're cute and entertaining, especially given their popularity.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
Uhh okay. I really appreciate knowing that. Was already thinking of getting the other books in the series anyways. As soon as I'm finished with Tales Of A Sixth Grade Muppet by kirk scroggs (I'm on book 2 in 4 part book series) going to immediately start on diary of a wimpy kid book series. Thank you. 👍
Early ones are really fun! I am far above the age group, but heard about it for years and saw it in the library. Thought 'why not!'. Read all of them now. Merit varies, but one I hated was MELTDOWN, which is like a whole book about 1 snowball fight, and just not really a diary, but they are worth reading. They don't take too long to read at any rate, so not a massive time investment to give a book or two a try.
I bought the whole Dr. slump anime novels set. I love that series it's hilarious. As a teen in the early 2000's that got me started in reading in high school granted this was during lunch & study hall as well as during the summer:
Mary Kate & Ashley Adventures [pretty sure I read every book in the series & it has quite a few books in the series)
Mary Kate & Ashley Sweet 16 book series (that is a really good series thoroughly enjoyed reading it)
Mary kate & Ashley New York Minute
The Rugrats Files (still have all the books in the series)
DeadTime Stories
GooseBumps (I liked but unfortunately could predict the storyline half way through so sort of liked but kind of got annoyed with how predictable the storylines were could take or leave more liked tv series both on tubi app & Netflix app which are the original 90's shows based on the books)
Tales Of A Sixth Grade Muppet (4 book series right I'm currently on book 2 but reading at leisure)
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid
The Mork & Mindy Story (it gives alot of insight behind the scenes of the 80's TV comedy)
I was never really a avid reader until high school then I started getting half to improve my reading level which I'm now on a 11th grade reading level half I actually like it now as opted to when I was a kid in elementary in the 90's~ 🤷♀️✌️
Ohh as for comics I read quite a bit I enjoyed: Casper The Friendly Ghost the most along with Beetlejuice. Be for warned the Casper the friendly ghosts are kind of hard to come by. I got quite a few from the 60's & 70's but were hard to track down. So we're some of the Beetlejuice comics. I'm a huge fan of Beetlejuice, Casper the friendly ghost & Mary Kate & Ashley are only a year older than me grew up watching them on tv, watching there movies etc. There autobiography book is fascinating to read also. 🤷♀️✌️
