Wow. I mean wow. Remember back in the 90's when you saw the Konami logo and said OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING! Remember?
Now we look at the logo in utter disgust. Konami is dead. Not financially, but in the sense that they have lost all respect/interest from gamers. ****MGSV

Have you seen the Erotic Violence trailer they released? They just like screwing every fan they have now their screwing Castlevania fans ugh.

As if Lords of Shadow didn't already happen.

The first Lords of Shadow was a great game. Maybe too close to God of War in terms of gameplay, but it had everything you would expect from a Castlevania game. A Belmont, a whip-like weapons, the locations common to Castlevania games, sub weapons, etc. To this day, I don't understand why people hate that game so much. At the very least, it was a better game then the N64 Castlevania games and Curse of Darkness.

Now, the second Lord of Shadows sucked. They wasted all the potental that Lords of Shadow had and screwed it up. Not to mention, in a game where we finally get to play as Dracula, why in the hell did they waste that? Lords of Shadows should have been a trilogy, with the second game being about Dracula at the height of his power fighting against everyone who could oppose him(Brotherhood of Light, the Belmonts, etc)

Instead, we get a lame version of Dracula that wants nothing more then to die, is so weak he can't take out armed security guards at his full potental, and is a waste of everything you could ever hope for in a game where Dracula is the main playable charchter.

Also, why did LOS2 have stealth missions?

I thought LOS was a great game, Mirror of Fate was pretty good, but LOS2 just plain sucked.

You know what's really sad? Even Mega Man did not have it this bad, and Capcom treated Mega Man like dirt for several years. But at least Mega Man got into Smash Bros, so some light was at the end of the tunnel for him and his franchise to regain some pride.

Not only did Castlevania exit with a garbage game, but this is the franchise's future. And to be honest, I'm not even sure Konami will toss the bone of getting Simon Belmont or Alucard into Smash Bros.

Good job Konami, you are now the worst Japanese developer out there. Not even Capcom at their worst, could match the middle finger and the kick to the nuts that you guys are giving out to your fanbase.

Last time I played a konami game was 2007 and I was 7 years old(Yay you all know my real age now) and it was to get a yu-gi-oh game so I never had a connection to this company but it is sad to see it go so badly because I know alot of people love the many games that it produces. hopefully Konami game division goes under and other companies picks up the rights to the various games.

Kinda stopped caring for most 3rd parties at this point, at least we still have Platinum, and Capcom (...on 3DS anyways) and whatever you call the Warriors people, lol

Well I was thinking of a different verb...That aside, I'll be picking up MGS V since it's the last good thing to come out of that company and it'll show them it was the developers that made them great and they should never have taken them for granted.

At least they care for their fans. Unlike EA.

I had heard awful things about Konami but I kinda just ignored them because, Castlevania aside, I don't have a ton of attachment to their games or series (barring buying up Hudson Soft and Bomberman). But wow have they spent this year just existing to be hated by everyone. This is really EA levels of hatred, and deservedly so.

That being said while it annoys me and their treatment of employees is disgusting (and even taking into account Japan's terrible even recent history in this regard, it seems pretty bad), I'm not that invested in it either. Capcom's stupidity angered more than nearly anything else in gaming, and even though I'll defend Nintendo a lot, when they genuinely screw up it bothers me quite a bit. Because I am invested in the games they create and thus I want them to do well. While I don't want Konami to fail (or at least their IPs), it's not something I am passionate about in any way. So I can at least kinda enjoy this in a trainwreck sort of way. That being said, the people who run this company are unquestionably completely horrible human beings that should disappear from gaming.

No, they really don't care for their fans. EA, while bad, is not as bad as Konami.

Yeah, I cancelled my pre-order of MGSV. Going to be buying it used now. Screw them.

There seems to be a lot that claim that Nintendo treats their employees like dirt and I don't see how that's completely the case since there's a lot of evidence that Nintendo DOES take care of their employees.

However, looking at Konami, I cannot help but wonder whether the next CEO could screw up Nintendo just like the CEO of Konami and whatnot. What happens to the day that Miyamoto-san and Genyo-san pass away. They are the only ones that know how Nintendo should be throughout the entire life. If someone were to change Nintendo's ultimate goal into something not even consumers would want, then video games may no longer exist in the long term. Think about it. Nintendo is the sole reason why gaming doesn't feel "cheap" because they keep reminding us how powerful technology doesn't necessarily mean a good quality game and that is true.

With a horrible reputation Konami is having right now, I can see them either going bankrupt anytime soon or that their shareholders giving up on Konami.

I do wish that Nintendo does purchase Hudson's IP which can really benefit Nintendo a lot. Bomberman is a great fit for them.

Why is everyone jumping on the hate bandwagon here? This could just be more yellow journalism from kotaku.

It's like you guys want to believe Konami is an evil company due to the precious Hideo Kojima left the company upset.
