@RPGamer I quite like the game so far. But there are a few things that aren't there that I really hope get added later on. Why is there no swimming? And are there really no other game consoles beside the Switch? Why remove the Gyroids and art items from the museum?
Still, those things aside, it's Animal Crossing, it's a lot of fun. The villagers are lively, the customization and crafting loop is great, the game is visually gorgeous, and like all games, benefits enormously from simply being on the Switch in the first place. I love being able to play on TV or on the go. Everything I like about the game though, is leaving me wanting a little more in every category. More furniture especially. More crafting, more villager interaction, more of Tom Nook dumping jobs on me, I want the villagers to ask me to do things too! Are there mini games to unlock? Like in New Leaf? For the first 3 days I had the game, I dumped hours and hours into each day. But days 4 and 5 have been a bit more mellow. Do some fishing, bug hunting and bell grinding, then check the store and move on to play something else.
Speaking of something else, I've been absolutely loving my second playthrough of Fire Emblem 3 Houses! Such a fantastic game. I followed Emperor Waifu Edelgard on my first run and had a blast and now I'd doing a Golden Deer run with Claude. Since it's new game plus I recruited almost every character. I love how the game is so morally ambiguous and how even though both the Claude and Edelgard routes are so different, I can easily imagine myself supporting either side as both make such compelling arguments for their different beliefs and goals. Not sure about about the Dimitri route - he was easily my least favorite of the 3 original leads and what I've seen of him in each route so far has only lowered my opinion of him. I think the Church route should be interesting too. I've put over 170 hours into the game and imagine There's easily another 100+ left to enjoy as I finish my current route and eventually play the two I have left.
@RPGamer
I think i will change my shopping plan for April 2020.
Since the USD exchange rate to Indonesia Rupiah is weaken due to Corona virus pandemic, it affected to ACNH import price.
I got information from my game shop owner that the price of ACNH was Rp 850,000 and it was Rp 150,000 more expensive than i expected. Moreover, as @Heavyarms55 said about the missing contents (Swimming, Art gallery, Some Special villagers, etc) on ACNH, I have changed my mind to halt my purchase of ACNH until I got further information or i got deal price for ACNH. 😩
So, as I have rescheduled my shopping plan, I will hunt for some old games i haven't own yet instead to save my budget.
The games i will consider for April 2020 according to my plan:
1. Airu de Puzzle PSP
2. Sonic Generations PS3
3. Jake Power Firefighter DS
4. Arkanoid DS
5. ??? (I will decide later)
@Anti-Matter I mean, I can be overly critical, it's still an awesome game and I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying it. Keep in mind that while a couple of older features are not present, for now, there's a whole bunch of new features! The crafting and customization of items and your island is a big deal!
But that sounds like a pretty nasty pricing increase, do you have to import it? Is it not for sale in stores in Indonesia?

@Heavyarms55
My game shop owner can provide the games from his supplier at Singapore or Hong Kong. So, every games at his game shop (and also other game shop in Indonesia) got provided by their supplier.
We will be guaranteed for more afforable price than if we buy from playasia or Ebay straightly.
ACNH has arrived in Surabaya, my hometown last Sunday 22 March 2020, but at the same time the price was more expensive from i have expected.
With weaken USD exchange rate to Rupiah right now, i think it would be better to pending ACNH at the moment.
I will wait 1 or 2 months later until i saw cheaper price after Corona virus pandemic get covered.
And beside, i still have a lot of games from Sony machines (PS3, PS4, PS2, PSP) and other Nintendo games (NDS, Wii, 3DS, Gamecube) I don't have yet that i want to add to my collection.
@User199x Lol, good luck with that! Animal Crossing is one of those Nintendo series that goes on Discount basically never. Even used it tends to retain the price. It's like Pokemon in that regard, it stays on shelves at, or close to, launch price for years! Of course there's always the chance of a holiday sale or something.

@RPGamer
I was pretty disappointed. 😔
Only ARMS Online Tournament caught my interest. 😀
The other games i knew before such Ring Fit Adventures, Pokemon Sword/Shield Expansions, Animal Crossing New Horizons festival, etc just caught my little interest. 🙂
Other games just.... Nope. 😐
I felt really disappointed for Ninjala for being F2P and ONLINE only game. 😫
Goodbye my dream..... 😢
@User199x You're in for a treat! I loved the game! Classic JRPG game play but with the usual modern quality of life features. Interesting characters and a cool fantasy world. Great soundtrack too! I bought it on CD - and even the CDs themselves were beautiful, each engraved with the two of characters.

I haven't played any JRPGs on the Switch yet, even though there's quite a few I want. Octopath, FFXII, Xenoblade 2 (I'm offended at myself for not owning this already), the Grandia collection, among other things.
Tbh, I deleted the DQ11 demo because I don't want to get into it since I have my doubts I'll buy it anytime soon. The other ones take priority.
Most excited:
1. BOTW 2
2. Xenoblade:DE (but only if I ever get the money and time to justify buying a game I own again. I want to though)
3. The new Shovel Knight spinoffs
4. Outer Worlds
5. Wonderful 101 (see: 2)
tbh, most of the games I'm gonna get that are coming out are either 1 of a million indie games I haven't decided on or one of the rumored games that haven't been officially announced. And that also goes for most wanted tbh. That's my most wanted list, just more great games. Doesn't matter what ones (though the impossible universe where a Switch can run Nier:Automata at 60 FPS would be number 1).
1) Shin Megami Tensei V
2) The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
3) Shantae and the Seven Sirens
4) Baldo
5) Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
I'm not as concerned about Switch ports, as I own multiple systems, so if I really want to play something, I have that ability. But I will say that I'm extremely eager to see a Switch port of Rare Replay.
I also don't understand why iconic Spike Chunsoft properties like the Zero Escape trilogy and the Danganronpa games aren't on the Switch.
@kkslider5552000 Your list is literally exactly the same as mine, good choices bro. There are so many good games coming out soon, but none confirmed for release after June.
How are you guys enjoying AC right now? I noticed I could finally see my playtime (after the "fist played X days ago) and was surprised I'd already put more than 45 hours into the game.
Then I checked my friends list and saw a bunch of people have already dropped more than 100-120 hours into the game! I guess that's the benefit for you socially isolated people.

@RPGamer Sure, my FC is below. Just send me a beep when you're on and see me also online.
On that topic, I think it's really silly that Switch doesn't have a regular activity log like the 3DS and Wii U have. The Switch obviously keeps track, so why not have a way to view that info directly? Instead of the silly "5 or more hours" "50 or more hours" "305 or more hours" I absolutely LOVE my Switch, but this has been one of my little complaints about it since launch.
And I know you can keep track with the parental controls app... but why should I have to set that up on myself just to be able to see how many hours I put into my games?

Oddly enough April Fools is the day I chose to start the Keto diet three years ago. For no reason other than it made remembering when I began the diet easier. Probably one of best decisions I've made in my life. Sure, part of me misses indulging in processed carbs, but since I turned thirty my overall health took a nosedive. Since I've begun the diet I've had fewer visits to the doctor, fewer gout flare ups, and less wear and tear on my body thanks to the overall weight loss (about 70lbs).
Switch Physical Collection - 1,247 games (as of April 15th, 2024)
