I hope we can even earn points on this new service through amiibos. I buy so many it'd be nice to get some points out of them too alongside games and systems.
Can't say that I'm too bothered by this. They have never put up a monthly game that I had to have, they also never even put up a physical reward that I wanted other than that Luigi Statue last year and I didn't have enough points. That being said, I'm sitting on 1800 points right now. I really hope they release something along the lines of that Luigi Statue.. maybe something Zelda related. I dunno. Come on, Nintendo, you can do it! 1600 point item!
It was fun while it lasted. I don't really mind, though. The rewards weren't that good, and anyway, Nintendo doesn't really owe us anything. They provide us a good/service, and we exchange currency for it. That's usually the end of the transaction, so having a rewards program was always just an added benefit. The fact that they're creating some kind of new program is really awesome, though I would admittedly be hesitant if it was indeed a subscription service.
Three time Platinum member (can assumedly become four time next month) with 1690 coins. Let's get spending. Just not this month.
So... I have a bunch of those codes from the Wii games I bought over the years (starting from 2007) and some Wii U games as well... and I haven't used them (excluding MK8 and Hyrule Warriors to get the stuff from Bergsala).
Would there be any harm done or rules broken if I gave these EU codes I have out to someone who would have use for them?
(I have a somewhat limited list of people here I'd give them out to, @SKTTR being at the top of the list if they had any use for the codes.)
I don't know but one issue I am aware of is that most of those codes will have expired (pretty sure everything except the Nintendo Selects range).
Dang, I still need 110 points to get Platinum. The new games coming out soon were supposed to be that extra bump, but now it seems they won't be eligible. Is it worth it to buy more just for the Platinum status? What should I get?
Buying Splatoon without the Club Nintendo points feels wrong. How can I express my opinion with this new IP seriously without Club Nintendo?
Well maybe the new system'll be implemented by then. Heck, if I were Nintendo, I'd launch it on the thirteenth of next month because, you know, everything ever is releasing that day.
If I can use my non-registered games on the new service I'll hold off on registering them. If not, I'll wait to see what kind of physical rewards get put up since they'll go out of stock fast. After that I'll get a bunch of VC games with what I have left.
I haven't bought a Wii U yet. The thing I'm curious about is if I buy Wii U and games in the future, will I get points / coins for the new rewards system? I wonder if I should buy stuff now or just hold off until the new system is in place. Also wondering if I should try to hit Gold / Platinum for this year since I haven't done so yet, or if it will even matter.

Most rewards are nothing special really, you're not missing out. I've got only one reward from Club Nintendo, and I had been saving for several years by then; granted it was quite expensive.
We don't know what the new rewards programme is going to be, so we'll just have to wait and see.
I couldn't care less. the real bummer was the death of swap note.
Didn't care about that much, death of picto chat was bad...wish they would make a new one and improve it by having online, etc etc...or maybe they could mix both things together, but alas it probably won't happen.
And Club Nintendo is completely broken in North America right now...the to-do list tab is missing and whenever I try to do my surveys most of which expire in the next couple weeks I'm greeted by this message:
Whoops!
