I have Cities Skylines on my Mac. I love business sims and city management games, but in regard to the base game, it seems pretty bare bones to me. I'm not a fan of "free crafting" in those types of games either, I love the money management and goal driven aspects of them (as an aside this is why I'm not a fan of Frontier Developments).

I can still get lost in SimCity DS for hours on end, but I'm pretty done with Cities Skylines. Does the DLC make the game interesting?

@iKhan (Honestly didn't know there was a Mac version.) But yes, there are a lot of different DLC packs depending on what you are looking for. If you want detailed info on them just search on YouTube "LGR Cities Skylines DLC" he has done outstanding videos on the different packs and can tell in you much greater detail than I can what they entail. No idea how supported Mac is, but the Steam workshop also has mountains of interesting mods.

Personally Skylines is a game I return to every few months and just drop a Sunday into.

@Heavyarms55 Thanks for your thoughtful response. I have every intention of taking advantage of playing games like that handheld. I mainly use my PC to play a limited selection (this year Hellblade, Katana Zero, and more recently The Sinking City) because of the obvious price advantage and short completion time. I love Civ 5 but I’m a terrible at managing an empire. I often feel like I need to hire a financial advisor to manage my spending.

I’m sure the base game of Cities Skylines has more than enough for me to sink my teeth into. Hopefully the citizens are fine with paying my high taxes 🤠

@NotTelevision Well Civ 6 actually does have an adviser in game that is decent on the lower difficulties at least. But I advise against taxing your people much more than the default in Skylines and that does tend to backfire badly in this game. But if you really want to go nuts they do have options to just turn on unlimited money and everything unlocked right out the gate. Old school style cheat codes built right into the game as an option is nice.

There's a big gap in games between about 2013-present and I'm still catching up, so, thus far:
Bioshock Infinite
Deus Ex: HR
Spiderman PS4
MGSV: The Phantom Pain (but- it pretty burned me out on the concept of huge open world games and I never want to play another one ever again)
Bloodborne

On the other hand there were very popular games that I completely hated, like The Last of Us and Destiny.

I didn't like Breath of the Wild, have I mentioned it yet today?

I know which 10 games are on the list, but it's really hard to choose the correct order. Here's my best attempt.

1. Witcher 3
2. Xenoblade Chronicles
3. Mario Galaxy 2
4. Dark Souls
5. Breath of the Wild
6. The Last of Us
7. Mass Effect 2
8. Skyrim
9. Final Fantasy XV
10. Xenoblade Chronicles 2

I appear to have ignored the 3DS completely, which seems wrong. Fire Emblem Awakening and Link Between Worlds are both near-perfect games too.
