Ok all i have an idea for a topic that has been on my mind for a while.

I have a fair few old ONM magazines stored away roughly 70 issues from before the wii was launched to a few years after.

Now i know there was games promised that never saw the light of day (who remembers sadness or grinder)

But my idea is this. go through the magazine issue to issue finding the old promises and lies and updating this topic with the finds along with photos taken of the articles aswell as any old posters and stuff i find.

Im just wondering though would anyone be interested in such a thread?

Incase you thought the guy with alex looked familiar it may be because chandra nair used to be the associate editor of ONM

FUN FACT. Chandra also used to be in a band and in 2007 i was producing a drum simulation game in a similar style to guitar hero/rock-band but before they had drums. i was in contact with chandra and he said i could use the bands music in my game. Unfortunately like many of my ideas the game came to a loose end and i had to stop development.

Thanks so much for posting these! Was a huge fan of ONM back in the day but my copies of the early magazines are long gone...
Former games editor Chris Scullion often laments the lack of any online archive of those glorious years so it might be worth hitting him up on twitter!, I bet he'd love to see these

gamermole

ahhh good old scottish scully i will look into messaging him.

If i have issue 2 (im sure i do and im certain i have issue 3) it was a while before i subscribed to this magazine so i was buying random issues up until that point.

I will probably have to make the mags a weekly post as the issue 1 post took me roughly 2 hours (not including the time i took reading the magazine aswell)

@gamermole Hey there, just letting you know that I'm going to edit your post to make this thread a bit more mobile friendly. Next time, please put a link instead of the entire image if you're posting multiple large images in one post. The page was kinda laggy when I opened it, so I don't even want to think about what it's like for the mobile users.

Doesn't NL automatically post pics when you post just the link? I know it happens with Youtube.

@Octane thats fine... whilst the post doesnt look as good with links im fine with that.

@gamermole @otterskateboard I can ask @TheLZdragon to make an exception in this case. Large images aren't mobile user friendly, plus it cause the page to lag while loading. I'm sure there's a better way to archive images like this, isn't there? Maybe pick your favourite pages and keep the rest as links?

Sounds fair to me.... All this talk is making me want to dig out issue 2 I wish I had a scanner.

The release date pages in these still feature GBA games lol

With respect to various speeds, I'd rather just have 1-2 images per post.

Current games: Everything on Switch

Switch Friend Code: SW-5075-7879-0008 | My Nintendo: LzWinky | Nintendo Network ID: LzWinky

gamermole

Maybe 3 images with the rest as links as I would have to use the cover page as the first image.
