Don't know if there are any Oklahomans on here or if people with family and friends in the Oklahoma City area. But I'm Oklahoman and have many friends living near the affected area. Seems they are ok as I have heard from most of them by now.

What about you guys? Anyone been affected here in anyway?

I've got a sister, brother-in-law, and the girl I like over there, thankfully none of them or their property were hurt/damaged.

Yea luckily most of my friends said the most they had to deal with was some debris in their yards and on the streets.

Luckily none of my loved ones live in the area.

I pray that things look up for those affected, though.

I was passing Moore ~6 weeks ago on a college visit to the University of Oklahoma. Seeing spots I drove right past but didn't pay much attention to (the theater in the town comes to mind) being completely destroyed was almost unreal. I since committed there, and I'm heading back down there in another 6 weeks for a pre-Freshman orientation session before classes begin there mid-August. I'll probably meet people who witnessed/were affected by the destruction firsthand, and that's scaring me to think about it.

Exactly.

You will enjoy it. OU is a great school. I went there for a bit and Norman is an awesome town.
