Just like with Code Geass, there's no reason to take any of it seriously. Whatever happened to just sitting back and enjoying the over-the-top insanity of it all? It's not a show with a mission outside of entertaining, and nothing screams "this is a super serious moment, you should be taking this super seriously!!!" outside of, like, two scenes, which are done exceptionally well, btw. I mean really, if something is silly and over the top, why are you even trying to take it seriously? 9 times out of 10 those moments are supposed to be fun and awesome. There's nothing to think about, you just gotta sit back and take it in.
...Sorry, I just hate it when people put being fun and over-the-top as a negative just because it's succeeding at what it set out to do instead of trying to be something else.

I'm not putting it as a negative. The thing is the show tried to make a world were things sort of made sense, and there were moments where stuff made absolutely no sense, particularly in the last two episodes (why did the creators feel that mole thing should be turned into a humanoid thing?). I wouldn't have voted for it if I didn't enjoy it, and I did have a good time watching it.

...actually, it all made sense in the comtext of their world and the context of various literary techniques. It would require a very lengthy explaination, though, and it's probably best if you read the Wiki instead. Really, it's all there. Just like FLCL, it actually make sense if you actually think about it and maybe watch it through a few times.

No, not really. Look at stuff like Fullmetal Alchemist, Trigun, or Cowboy Bebop. Those shows had things that made sense within context of their worlds. I shouldn't have to watch a show multiple times or look at a wiki to understand how things are possible when other shows are able to to it so expertly.
