When I was eagerly anticipating mario vs. donkey kong: minis march again, since it had been released in America, I was looking at reviews for it to make sure that it wasn't just a cut-down of the ds game and I saw nl's review of it which meant that not only was I pleased to find that it would still be a great game but I also found a great site. I started lurking for months until I finally became a member and now this is easily my most visited site.

Like mariofanatic and others, I came looking for a DSiWare game review, namely WarioWare: Snapped (much to my regret I discovered NL after buying the game/shovelware). It really makes me feel good when I read the comments on this site. No trolling, flaming, swearing (well, not that much ), review-bashing, and all the other horrible stuff that you get on sites like IGN. Instead, users compliment reviewers, people are polite, kind and helpful to each other. New users are welcomed and the whole place feels like a really warm community where people know each other, whether they're users or mods. The internet can be a really horrible place, but NL is completely different. From the day I joined I was welcomed and appreciated, and you don't normally get that. Happy 5th birthday NL. Almost.

Man, I just read that to myself and it sounds so cheesy.

I think I searched "Nintendo" on Google, for whatever reason. The name seemed interesting so I checked out some reviews and I was hooked.

BedCommando

Found the site when searching for DSiWare reviews. Saw the exentsive library of DSiWare games covered so thought I'd stick around.

I found Nintendo Life when I was wondering if I should download the first or second semester of Art Acadamy for DSiWare. The only site I went on at the time (a year ago) was Gamefaqs, and I was surfing the AA: Second Semester board when I stumbled upon a link to the NL review. And there, the 4/10 review inspired me to download the first, btw. Anyway, the whole "comment on news articles" thing was new to me (even though I later discovered that just about every site has that feature, even Gamespot, but I don't go on there ), and the people seemed nice, so I joined.
Even if I had to make a Gmail account to do so. Stupid Hotmail.

My first post was in the Mario&Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story review according to my account. Happy almost birthday NL!

I was aware of Virtual Console Reviews, but it wasn't until last year during the summer that I checked this site every day. I joined this July and the rest is history. I'm happy joined. Everything about Nintendo Life is fantastic.

I'm back (for the moment)!

turtlelink

I found Nintendo Life while looking for a preview of Water Warfare last year.

I remember back when I got my Wii during the Epiphany (January 6th) of 2007 [I'm part Italian], I had tried looking for a website that covered which games were coming to the Virtual Console. At first it was a different site, but eventually I discovered VC-Reviews, and I'm glad I found it. I visited the site quite often. When April Fool's Day of 2009 arrived, the site had changed completely. It had multiple portions, and had covered more than just VC games; it also covered Wii, DS, Retro games, and more, plus the forums were created. I'm glad that the site had merged together that day; as I often visit the site to this day. I joined NintendoLife back in August 22nd of last year, and it was one of the best things I ever did; it's my favorite website ever. It was the very first website I ever joined, and I was excited about it; I like reading the VC and retro reviews and news, and I like participating in the forums the most (I love talking to you, guys).

Happy early birthday, NintendoLife!!!

One of my favorite moments on NL, was when some guys and I would all get together online every friday to play Brawl. 4 player online action has never been more fun (until i get Monster Hunter Tri that is)!! I remember frantically rushing back and forth trying to talk on the thread and play matches at the same time. Good times...gooood times

I found NL via VC Reviews. One day I went on and it was gone, and I was like wtf where's my vc-reviews.net and wtf is NintendoLife? I ended up registering a day or two after that, lol. Favorite memories are of the days when good ol' eugenewrayburn was with us. ;3

I think I found the VC site looking for reviews. Nintendo Life is the first and so far only site I've logged onto to use forums. I particularly remember days of threads revolving around the adventures of a chicken, cowboy, and a penguin. Cake also seemed to feature quite a lot. It was quite a pleasant way to spend unemployment. I have a real job now, but I pop in now and again. I'm led to believe that Nintendo Life is one of the more friendly corners of the internet, and I think it will remain so.

I found NL while doing a Google search for WiiWare reviews last December. I had just gotten my Wii, so the reviews on this site were a great help. Took me about a month of browsing before I decided to register and post in the forums.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I heard about this place last week. I've been a Wii owner for only 4 weeks now and I was just getting into Wiiware. I asked for recommendations and along with lists one guy linked here.

Funny though, I didnt expect to spend anytime on the forums.

I also found VC Reviews first, it was such an awesome find for a retro gaming fan, as always I could not get enough of reading about old-school games. I never really posted on forums, or in places like Twitter, back then. I was more of a community shy, keep myself-to-myself, quietly hoarding games and local-multiplayer playin' type of gamer in 2007. I think I chatted to Damo first and Daz very shortly after, this was around about summer 2009. I was really late to the Nlife party, but I had always been checking it out in the background and although I am a latecomer, I'm really glad that I met all of you guys.

Anyway, @Dazza's link above to the gamesTM interview is ace, so I thought that I would also mention his interview with Retro Gamer magazine. It is from page 107 of Issue 53 in July 2008, Mr Calvert tells the Retro Gamer crew all about VC Reviews and even sneaks in a mention of Star Parodier ...What a legend!

My favourite part of it is when Retro Gamer compares VC Reviews to the superb UK retro multiformat mag, Mean Machines. You don't get a better compliment than Retro Gamer descrbing VC Reviews as having, "a sense of style and fun that perfectly mimics Mean Machines." Fair play!

Here is the direct link to the pdf of Retro Gamer's Daz Calvert interview.

I am passionate about retro gaming, from antiquated consoles to the continuation of classics. Obviously I love PSone, and PS2 retro games. I blast my ears to breakneck melodic punk, gruff vocals and nimble alternative guitar hooks.

Welcome to Nintendo life the chosen! The forums here are some of the best on the web based on all the other ones I've stumble across. (Don't tell anybody, but as much as I <3 my Wii I intend to spend a lot more time on these forums then on the Wii lately(this site at least). I find them to be very informative for my gaming needs. Not just for Nintendo either, but they pretty much cover all things gaming and beyond.)

On topic:
I was looking for reviews for a DSiware game back when the service was just starting out and I was linked to his site from gamerankings.com. Kept up with the site for a few months to see what it was all about and decided that 1/1/2010 seemed like a good day to join so I did. Been on a Nintendo Life High ever since.

Seriously though, as far as gaming goes, NL has renewed my love for gaming by covering so many things that I really never thought about before finding this site.
Nintendo Life FTW.... imho

I was looking for a review for Water Warfare, and NL had the first one up. Then I joined on July 10 2009. I've had quite a few fun times here.
