I decided to follow Nintendo's published games in 2013 to see how it will stand in the metacritic "publisher rankings".
You might think it's stupid and pointless, but I really want Nintendo to do well here...
These are the rankings at the moment:
Fire Emblem - 92
Animal Crossing New Leaf - 87
Luigi's Mansion - 86
DKCR 3D - 83
Lego City Undercover Wii U - 80
Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move - 77
HarmonKnight - 73
Dillon's Rolling Western - 72
Brain Age - 71
Tokyo Crash Mobs - 68
LEGO City Undercover 3DS - 62
Kersploosh - 61
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity - 59
Animal Crossing puts Nintendo in a really good place and with a bunch of big Wii U games coming up this holiday season (and Pokemon X/Y), the position looks solid. It's a shame Pokemon Mystery Dungeon got such bad reviews overall.
Mystery Dungeon is the kind of game that doesn't set reviews alight - due largely to their repetitive love-it-or-hate-it gameplay mechanics - but fans adore. Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky weren't highly rated either, but they're largely considered phenomenal titles (with a brilliantly written story) by fans of the series.
