honestly i think thats a good name for an animal. if you say it enough it just sounds normal.

we've got a cat that looks exactly like the one in the picture; his name is Bird. when he was a kitten he stuck to my daughter like a burdock. then one day he was sitting in the kitchen and suddenly ran into the fridge. he sat there looking a wee bit dazed, then proceeded to do it 2 more times. from then on, the name Bird stood for 'bird brained'.

I think Mieu would be a great name for a cat. If it has a loud, high, meow, definately name it Mieu. Don't forget Nyan that is a perfect name for a cat, if you plan on mutating it into a breakfast pastery.

Maybe you should name the cat after you get a chance to know her personality a little bit.

...otherwise I'd go with Ash based on the little info available.

I would name it silver based on it's color. I think that would be a nice name.

Nowi and Sumia are good names. Since we all love video games here, I checked wikipedia for video game cats. Here's a list.
Big, Blaze the Cat, Blinx, Captain Claw, Cait Sith, Freddy the Cat, Kay, Myau, Mao, Spitz, and Tango. Personally I liked Tango, and the rest are just to weird to say with a straight face.
Edit: Oh, and two names I like are Rick and T-Dog.

But anyways, I think I'll wait till the cat actually comes home, so I can do as @sykotek suggests. Come to think of it, my mom keeps saying it was my "fault" that we met the cat (which is basically true since I suggested to go to that Petsmart), so I might have a little leverage naming her. Would really like it to be Sumia, I like that name.
