Loved this one guys. Just came out on DVD. He is a jobbing actor living in Japan that joins an agency where he has to act as whatever emotional need people want him to fill. A friend to play video games with for a day, a mourner, a husband for a fake wedding etc.
Lovely drama film with some comedy and poignant moments. Wonderfully acted. Lots of lovely scenery. 👍

Cool, sounds like an interesting movie. Not long ago, I watched a YouTube video of a Japanese guy who does something similar in real life. I enjoyed it. Really showed me, how important it is to just be there for someone.
@Jhena Bet that video was interesting too! To see it play out in real life. One thing I learned from the movie that stayed with me was how they, the agency in the film, said that mental health problems and talking about them are a stigma in Japan and frowned on. They don't do therapists like the West do really. This is a more acceptable solution for them. If it works, as it must do for this to be a real industry, I would not knock it if someone needed it.
