@Kermit1 or anyone,
Holy crap, Daniel Radcliffe is jacked for this movie at 0:38 in Kermit1's clip above. Was Weird Al that jacked back in the day? Wild.
In my current journey through all the X-Men (& related) films I watched First Class this morning.
I don't know whether it's because it's the one I saw back in theaters, because it does such a good job mixing in real world history, or just because of the awesome climax, but I've always really liked this one & still found myself enjoying it.

Saw Doctor Strange 2 tonight. I was underwhelmed, due to my sky high expectations, mostly because Sam Raimi was returning to direct another Marvel movie! Still good though if you're a big MCU fan. I'd love to say more but...can't.
Dr. Strange started ok, became a joy to watch by the 2nd half. That Spiderman movie was surprisingly at its best at being emotional, so I guess this worked out to be the "let's have fun" type of multiverse-centric Marvel movie. Which is weird now that I say it outloud considering the horror-ish, deadly direction it goes in. I did call the twist and am glad it happened earlier than I expected it to.
Every movie I've seen in theaters with Professor X as played by Patrick Stewart, he dies. What are the odds?
Just got back from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Surprisingly it does avoid becoming a fan service laden cameo fest, and is probably a tighter more fulfilling experience as a result (just go in with the correct expectations), with the cameos it does have being that much more exciting (even if the big one's been teased since forever). That said, I was kinda disappointed that they didn't utilize one of the two post credits scenes for a cameo opportunity.
We went to a 3D showing (in the hopes that it'd have a 3D trailer for Avatar: the Way of Water, which it did), and the effect was used brilliantly throughout. Although I probably will rewatch it once it hits Disney+, I really think Multiverse will lose something in 2D.

@Kermit1, yeah, it looked absolutely stunning in 3D (which should go without saying, since it's sort of the franchise's thing). The underwater scenes in particular looked mesmerizing.

I mentioned it on the Chit-Chat thread but I won't be able to see Doctor Strange where I am due to the illegal nature of America Chavez' parentage. Obviously disappointed but it'll be available digitally in time.
In the meantime I did rewatch Star Wars: The Force Awakens and a little bit of Dune. The former's very derivative of A New Hope but has (for me) one of the best character relationships in Finn and Poe. The latter's Dune. Enough said.
I know everyone says the sequels suck, and I share this, but I actually like the first one, I thought it was actually really good, and was setting up for a ok plot and characters, tho we won’t ever know how this ends.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@Rambler I'm in the Middle East. Rules are relatively strict here... yeah. But when they aren't banning movies it can be a decent time in the cinema, I saw Dune in IMAX.... mwah.
@Snatcher I agree, yeah. The movies seemed to get worse over the course of the sequels coming out, for me. TFA was pretty good and a solid return for the series, TLJ had some fun plot twists, but I feel like they ruined the trilogy to get Carrie Fisher's scenes to work, since she died in 2016. I liked Rose a lot, and ROS absolutely butchered her character.
@Link-Hero I do believe the UAE's a bit more relaxed. Decent precedent.
I remember when Multiverse of Madness came out, I was very confused as to why it was getting such low scores since I thought (and still think) it looked really interesting and fun. And then I got to one specific review who's tagline was 'a Sam Raimi film, for better and for worse' and it was instantly like 'Ohhhhhhhhhhh. That makes sense now'. Raimi films have the highest highs and lowest lows, there's really no inbetween (just look at Spider-Man 3).
