Not good enough to appear on my top 10 games list, or even a top 10 RPG list for that matter, still its pretty unique and would definitely recommend it.
@Magi-There are 3 future installments of the Kingdom Hearts series. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is coming out for the Nintendo DS on September 29, 2009. Kingdom Hearts:Birth by Sleep is coming out on the PSP possibly in 2010, and it has 50 hours of gameplay. Birth by Sleep might as well be called Kingdom Hearts III, because I think it will be better than any other Kingdom Hearts games. Kingdom Hearts:Coded is out for JAPANESE CELL PHONES, and I do not know if it will be released in the West on any format.
I've looked at each of them (albeit briefly). At least one of them had mention of some kind of "card-based" nonsense. I refuse to touch any game that has any type of card-based combat (or anything else for that matter). Did I read correct? If one of them is card-free, which is it? I have a PSP and might be interested in it.

You must of read that Birth by Sleep's gameplay is similar to Re:Chain of Memories's gameplay. It is similar in the fact that you choose which abilities you want use by your command deck [basically you use just choose which abilites you want you character to use] BUT it is not card-based at all. In fact the gameplay in all 3 future Kingdom Hearts game are non-card based. Doe this look like card-based gameplay to you? Well, Kingdom Hearts:Birth by Sleep is going to be relased in Japan on January 9, 2010. A bunch of English voice actors are confirming their role in the Wsetern version of Birth by Sleep [like Jesse McCartney voicing Ven for example]. So, I think we will see Square Enix announcing and releasing Birth by Sleep for North America sometime in 2010! Here is the final Japanese trailer of the game: [youtube:7V4spdfg2gA]
Seriously, this game is going to be epic! If you are a KH fan and do not have a PSP yet, you better get one soon!
Why out of all companies would Square choose Disney? They could've chosen Warner Bros., MGM, or Hanna-Barbera but nope, they just HAD to go with Disney. Groan...
Yeah, the concept of Final-Fantasy-characters-meets-Disney-characters put me off the series too (For a while at least), which is why I just recently got into it. Don't get me wrong, I love both Final Fantasy AND Disney charactyers, but the thought of them fighting alongside eachother just seemed... unsettling. But I must say I was pleasantly surprised once I started playing it. Square somehow managed to make such a bizarre concept fit together like chocolate and peanut butter, and it's got one of the most entertaining combat systems I've yet experienced in an RPG. Plus, all the Disney fanservice makes my inner child giddy with glee. It's definitely worth picking up.
I only got into Kingdom Hearts because of the Halloweentown levels. As soon as I started playing, I was hooked on the series. As of right now, I have all of the KH games, minus BBS of course
Jesse McCartney voices Roxas, and he will voice Ven in Birth by Sleep. Right now, Jesse McCartney is doing more voice work than Haley Joel Osment. I personally don't have any issues with the voice acting, I thought it was great. When I first bought Kingdom Hearts, I was skeptical about Disney charcters working in a action RPG. But, now it is one of my favorite series, and I guess you can call me a hardcore Kingdom Hearts fan.
The first Kingdom Hearts game is my favourite game of all time, so I definitively recommend it. While I prefer KH2’s darker storyline, I don’t care much for button-mashers or KH2’s horrible party member AI, so I don’t like it as much as I like the first one. Still, I love the whole series to death, and as long as you don’t have an intense hatred for Disney or JRPG games, I’m sure you will too. And I recommend you play the games in order of release: KH->CoM->KH2->358/2 Days->BbS I’m not sure where the cell phone games come in.
@Hyper Luigi’s video: I’m not even sure I’ll be able to wait for the NA version, let alone the EU version. If Birth by Sleep gets any more awesome I might have to import
