I seriously desperate to know. Are Hal first or second party to Nintendo? I have been checking several websites, but some say second and some say first part. Does anyone know?

First. Second parties are developers like Good Feel who make games under Nintendo's name but are not owned by the company.

Look for Nintendo 1st Party Developers (Worldwide) and it'll be the last one listed.

Seriously people? Don't edit Wikipedia so you can be right. You poor, poor people.

The part of their website talking about the company makes no mention of Nintendo, unlike other Nintendo Japanese subsidaries, like Brown Brownie. I think they may actually be independant. Their Wikipedia page also lists them under Second Party, as privately owned.

GameFreak is second party for example. I believe Hal is also second party, since (and don't quote me on this) they only make one franchise for Nintendo (Kirby right?).

Smash Bros.

I also believe the Mother series too.
EDIT: Actually, can't remember...but I know Hal was involved...remember seeing them in the credits for EarthBound.

I would assume second party as they aren't directly involved with Nintendo when they make games or are considered a subsidiary. Of course, I might also be completely wrong, so take your chances.
