PLEASE READ POST #36!!
before I start, let me clarify: This demo is for PC, NOT Xbox! It is played with a keyboard, NOT an Xbox controller! This demo I plan on sending out in a week has absolutely zero to do with anything associated with the Xbox! No Xbox? No problem! Now then....

Hello all! As some of you may know, I was a co-starter of a new independent developer named Quarantine Games. We have been a bit inactive as of late and currently only have one game on Xbox Live Indie Games: Pixel Mix. That effort was very rough and truthfully a bit meh. So anyway, the other half to this little thing is currently focusing on college so I have been quietly working on new concepts via Game Maker. I've had a lot of projects that ended in the trash bin. But then, I spawned a new idea! The name of this new game is Super Flea! Yes, flea as in the tiny bugs that irritate cats and dogs. I have been developing this concept very very slowly for several months and am quite confident in it.

The problem is, I made the thing....so it doesn't help me much to test the game myself. This is where you, the general public comes in! I need a group of people interested in recieving a Beta build of Super Flea and testing it to the best of their ability. The game is a platformer and I warn, it is quite difficult, even for me! One of the game's big insperations is Super Meat Boy so that should be quite telling of its difficulty. So be warned, this will by no means be a cake walk! This build I plan on distributing isn't quite finished yet but will be in about one week. I just want to get a list of folks together to be testers. Anyone interested will also recieve a Microsoft Word document asking specific questions that I would very much appreciate answers to by as many people as possible. Oh and one more thing, the game is currently totally audio-less and will be for some time. So if you are interested in play-testing my new creation, please email me at: bboy2970@ya... and I will be in touch when the demo is ready. Thank you! BTW, THIS DEMO IS FOR PC, NOT XBOX!

EDIT: I would be especially appreciative if any reviewers from this site would be testers for this! It would be very helpful to me to get the
opinions of professional game reviewers!

EDIT(2): Also, if anyone is interested in signing up, it wouldn't hurt to post something in this thread here so that it doesn't sink and never get seen by more than 20 people

If I had a 360 I would love to be a play-tester. I'm just curious, is Game Maker free?

Yes, the lite version of Game Maker is free. Maybe I wasn't clear, This demo is run on Game Maker and therefore is only playable on PC, not Xbox. This thing won't jump to Xbox for a loooooooong time!

Do you require that the person uses an XBox 360 controller on the PC?

@Rob: No. Nothing about this demo build has to do with Xbox. It is played with a keyboard and mouse (for menus and stuff). Although I do have it running with support for a PS3 controller, its implimentation is far to complex to expect a play-tester to install all the drivers and stuff.

Sorry, I have no XBox, but good luck!

@Zach: Read the new extra sentence at the top of the original post. This demo is NOT for Xbox. It would be great having you along, being a reviewer and all

Okay. Too bad. I prefer a controller. I don't like plateformers with keyboard and mouse. oh well. sorry

It's hard to play Super Meat Boy on a PC without a controller. I bought it on steam and 360. The 360 controls much better with a controller. I can't connect my 360 controller to the PC because it is wireless and I don't want to spend the money at the moment on a cord for a 360 controller. Sorry dude, I'm out. If I get a cord I'll let you know.

A platformer? I love platformers! One question though: will I be able to put it on my 2GB USB drive and play it on any computer or do I have to install it? Because I don't have my own laptop right now. If I can put it on my USB then I'm interested.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I would love to, but the problem is that I have too many games to play at the moment. Darn you Steam... Untitled

I'm interested in testing it. I'd have to check a few things on this computer first though.

You said that this is going to be quite hard. I'm in.
If you need game maker lite to run this, would you mind posting a link to it?

@tristen: How it will work is, If you sign up by sending me an email, I will send the file to you that way. It will be a zip folder containing the game's file and the Microsoft Word questionaire. After you get the folder it is fine to put it on USB and play the contents right off the drive.

@longtimegamer: I don't really know the actual specifications but it is a very simple program that requires little effort by the computer. I guess if you have a PC with Windows XP or higher that can move around the net moderately fast, you have the hardware to run SUper Flea!

@Robo-Goose: As I said above, the file will be given to you when it is all prepared via whichever email you respond to me with.

@bboy2970
I was a bit vague in my last post. I meant to say that I need a link for Game Maker lite, because I do not have Game Maker lite. I understand that when Super Flea is ready, you will send us a link for Super Flea.

@Robo-goose: Thats the beauty of this demo I am sending. You literally need NO programs, not even Game Maker to run the file. Its as simple as un-zipping the folder, and double clicking on the game file, and you're off! If you are interested in just playing around with GM in general though, you can find it at yoyogames.com

I'm glad to know that, thank you for clearing things up. Alright then! When you release the demo, I will begin playing/judging it promptly.

Sounds good. I'll sign up. Can't wait to see what you've created!
