I'm sure this has been asked before in the history of Nintendolife, but not for a while, from my memory.

Pretty simple question!

For me, aside from the time I spend gaming for reviews etc (which us work, rather than playtime), I'll typically spend a hour or two gaming for fun at the end of each day. My console of choice for that alternates between 3DS and PSP, as I rather like relaxing in bed before sleep hits me.

And in work playtime, and it can be as much as 12 hours/day.

between 1 hour to 4 hours a day. depends on homework, free time, if i have friends over etc. I try not to do those all day gaming spree's though. I never used to play this much. I believe i am playing more because i got a job recently and can afford some good games now.

I Play my 3DS far more than my wii or PS3 most likely because its easier to start playing.

If I'm lucky, maybe 1-3 hours a day. I usually game late at night, due to a busy schedule during the day.

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!

Until recently I was on a long streak of playing no video games during the week and playing anywhere from an hour to maybe ten (usually somewhere in between) of Brawl on weekends. Then Mario 3D and Skyward Sword came out and I had to finish them before Mario Kart 7, so I've been playing nonstop lately.

By the end of the year I hope to have my new game craze under control and go back to my previous habits with MK7 (and hopefully the occasional Brawl, too, if my Brawl buddies aren't too chicken like usual) as my weekend online gaming fix, saving the weekdays for reading. The kinds of games I like don't relax me at all but have the opposite effect, and that's not good on work nights. I also tend to obsess over competitive games, and if I don't set myself to a schedule, I'll end up never putting the game down long enough to enjoy anything else.

Short answer: Usually 6 hours-ish on weekends, none during the week; at present this schedule varies greatly.

I seem to recall responding to a thread like this before, but I'm too lazy and inept to look it up.

Wildly off-topic, but what work do you do?

Adam

Nothing exciting, but I don't sleep well as it is, and playing games doesn't help. I mostly do data entry and some rudimentary accounting. I hate my job, but I'm not exactly a talented or skilled person (professionally speaking; it goes without saying that I am the best Mario Kart 7 racer there ever was), nor do I really have any particular interests in some other field.

You do realise that you're the most interesting data entry/ accounting person ever, right?

Adam

Unfortunately, yes, I know this firsthand.

On a weekday, normally 1-2 hours but I'll sometimes make it more if I can and on a day thats either at the weekend or in the holidays, normally 1-7 and occasionally more. Its sometimes like that on a Thursday or Friday too as I go to college 3 days a week but due to the amount of work I get, it isn't always.

Usually somewhere around 18 to 20 hours a week, mostly on the weekend.

If I am not sleeping, then I am on the internet, and if I am not on the internet I am playing games, and if I am not playing games I'm doing unimportant stuff like homework or something.

1 to 1 1/2 hours Monday through Friday and I try to play more than 5 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

Gaming for work sounds fun! Getting paid to play and write about games is something I've always wanted to do, but the professional review business is crowded and very competitive. sigh

I mainly play games for a few hours each day, either before or after work (depending on the time I work, of course).

Ranges from an hour to a few hours a day. If I have a particularly awesome game to play (those are few and far between) I'll spend maybe five hours playing split up throughout the day.

Depends how busy I am.
I'll be at Uni full time next year so unfortunately I'll have less time for games, but for most of this year I've had a ton of spare time so I've been spending probably 5-12 hours a day most of the time.

Hm. You know how they say you should never make a career out of something you love?

I can confirm that's a statement of fact. As much fun as it sounds playing games and then reviewing them, it sucks a lot of fun out of the experience when you're constantly analysing what your're doing, and then when you put the review up you're inevitably going to be hit by some backlash from a generally negative community.

And the pay sucks. I do other, better paying work to do the game reviews stuff.
