I'm kind of glad rap is dying in the mainstream. I'm sure it will be around forever because crap never dies lol, but I can't say anything positive about it.

You don't listen to enough to say that. Try some roots, KOS1, K'naan, Lupe, early Kanye, Nas.

Plus Rap is still uber popular its just being infused more with other genre's and the hardcore gangster rap variant is nearly dead.

WAT!

Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.

It's not my favorite genre but I'm definitely a fan of hip-hop/rap. Right now I've been listening to a lot Aesop Rock. He's one of those guys that I feel is too well known to be truly underground any more but still most casual listeners probably have never heard of him.

1. Yeezus is so, so, so, so, so terrible. Beyond bad. I couldn't comprehend how awful it was. Kanye is just irritating so much of the time. 808s & Heartbreak was terrible, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was unbelievably good and then Yeezus... Ughhh...

2. Acid Rap is a fantastic album.

3. Jay-Z hasn't released a decent album since The Blueprint

4. Schoolboy Q is rather good

5. Blue Scholars is a hip-hop duo everyone should listen to. I've never known a person not to love this song by them:

She was like a candle in the wind... Unreliable.
