Topic: Hip-Hop/Rap

I really like Hip-Hop music, especially Kanye, who is like a god.

TBH, I've never been a fan of either Hip Hop or Rap. Just never really resonated with me.

Glad others can find something to like in it, though.

If you enjoy old school rap and hip-hop, that is the kind of stuff I enjoy.

I enjoy all rap. I have yet to hear a rap song I dont like. I can even somewhat enjoy Little B.

I can't agree with Little B, and most mainstream Rap suffers from tropes and really misguided producers. Kanye's older stuff was much better IMO.

I recommend Jurassic 5, The Pharcyde, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Black Star, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, and Common.

@MuchoMochi I have listened to all of those except The Pharcyde, and I love them all. Especially Black Star

I enjoy all of Kanye's stuff, and pretty much everything MuchoMochi recommended. Recently I've also been digging Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul, Lupe Fiasco and (begrudgingly) Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

The only rapper I listen to is shizzy sixx. He has some amazing songs!

My personal collection has a few Eminem albums and a few Tupac albums. Really not a big fan.

I really have been digging Childish Gambino recently. I also super like Chiddy Bang, and am sad to hear that it's done.
Fun Fact: Me and my older brother knew about Chiddy Bang, Mac Miller, Macklemore, and Childish Gambino before they were famous.

Well time to listen to rap music at work.
Also lately I've been questioning when do you draw the line between rap and hip hop can a song be considered both?

Lupe Fiasco, Fort Minor, Kanye West minus Watch the Throne and some of Graduation and Yeezus (too egoistical / mainstream), and some of Kid Cudi's music. I generally prefer alt rock or electronica though. One problem I have with rap is all the cliche rappers trying to sound gangsta and what-not. Can't stand that stuff. It's stuff like The Cool, The Rising Tied, and The College Dropout that I like. The underground hip-hop.

Love Kanye. He has some great tracks.

Anyone else like Chance the Rapper? People seem to overhype him but man he really is good. I love his flow! Pushaman (which includes Paranoia if you listen to the those two tracks separately) is such an amazing song. Hey Ma is also really good. Man I love the lyrics.

I'm kind of glad rap is dying in the mainstream. I'm sure it will be around forever because crap never dies lol, but I can't say anything positive about it.

Obviously you haven't listened to immortal technique or lupe fiasco. Underground/non-pop rap has perhaps the greatest content in lyrics over any genre.

Anyways, never been a Kanye fan. My personal pick for GOAT is MF Doom (with GZA not far behind)
