Anyone else think the animation of cartoons in the past looks better than the animation of today's cartoons?
I've always thought that. I think it's because with the new animation, it's so obvious that they went in and edited everything with a computer that something gets lost in the process. Some of the spirit or effort just isn't present. I don't know what it is, but just the amount of obvious artificialness makes me dislike how they animate cartoons now.

Well DreamWorks animation for How To Train Your Dragon was beautiful and the animation for Disney's The Princess and the Frog was absolutely gorgeous. Disney also did a wonderful job with Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Chicken Little Finding Nemo as the animation in those films was finely executed.
I loved Disney when I was a kid until I learned what a terrible person Walt Disney was. I still like those classics, but it has forever tainted my childhood classics.
As for Disney today, I think it's pretty bad, with terrible shows, movies and especially music.

Finding Nemo wasnt Disney. Finding Nemo was Pixar which is partnered with Disney but Disney really doesnt have any control of them, so in a sense they are different companies.

I meant most 2D animation in cartoons. I'm fine with digital animation for movies, but going into a 2D cartoon and editing everything with a computer to the point where it's completely artificial looking annoys me. An example is Spongebob. The older cartoons have a more organic look to them, the colors were more subdued and it looked more like a cartoon drawn by a person. As time went on it got edited more and more to the point where it looks like it was all just made by a robot and people had nothing to do with it, which makes it seem pretty soulless to me.
@TheFox: ... anyone attempting to defend this path Disney has currently gone down needs to watch that. i think i just threw up in my mouth a little.

That video was rough until the "How did that rug taste?" line, followed by "Blam in the face". It's official--Disney is now straddling some line between Tard Central the Pedo Network.

I understand your point now. Yes, I follow you on that one. Especially El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, that's a bit terrible to.
Oh and Fox, did you have to ruin our memories with that AWFUL Blam video? Disney executives must be mad to have allowed such a mockery of Disney classics to be aired on any TV. It was so painful I could not even finish watching it. Like getting stabbed in the back it was, though I've never been violently assaulted till now via that "Blam!"
Also, I knew Disney's friend Salvadore Dalie was a diabolical man but not Disney himself. Please enlighten me on Disney please.

Well, he was an anti-Semite and saw communist conspiracies everywhere. People leaving his company? Communists. Artists strikes against his company? Communists.
He may even have helped to get people blacklisted during the McCarthy era, although evidence is inconclusive on that one.

@The_Fox: That was so terrible that I laughed. Now I think I might cry.
ROLF! I could not even cry it was so terrible to me. Indeed, I almost had a heart attack at the crisp and tender age of 21. Seriously, a sign of the times folks. The Mouse has been disrespected by the very people who helm his company.
With the Mr. T of the alternate dimension it can be said "Boy, I Pity The Mouse".

Its ok but cartoons today are much better than before. The cartoon itself looked pretty cheesy but if they where to remake it, it would look better. I really like the The Suite Life of Sack and Cody on Deck, thats a very good program. @Toad Fan 101, I'm afraid your wrong with the whole dating thing a lot of young people do date in High School, at my friends High School a lot of young people date, so its not just in the tv show. Also on the news, they talk about 12 year olds having babies and having boyfriends which I do not agree with and its not right, thats just to young!
ROFL, that Blam! was pretty funny, if you guys don't like the show you guys got a huge problem I say. But I never saw Blam! on Disney before. If you don't like Disney channel how can you guys go to the channel and watch and then come on here and start complaining, I don't get it.

some of us have younger siblings, or nieces and nephews that, unfortunately, have already been brainwashed. someday we'll be able to wean them back onto good shows, like DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, Bonkers, and the like, but not until they're mature enough to let go of Hannah Montana and High School Musical and all the other pop-star crap that's got its hooks in their impressionable little minds.
on a side note, this entire topic was created for us to speak our minds on the issue of the decline of Disney. If you don't like us telling it like it is, you're more than welcome to stop posting in this thread.
