Mario Maker is $60. I can't believe it. Nintendo's greed these days seems to knows no bounds. This is a feature in a full game at $60. This should be $40 is they seriously wanted to push it. I doubt this game will be that successful. Nintendo's been so greedy lately, that I just don't know what to say. This could start marking in end in my interest in them if they keep it up. I wasn't even interested in getting this game, but I'm still infuriated.
To be fair, good full games have been an average of 60 dollars for quite some time, so it's really not something new and exclusive to Nintendo. Actually I believe in the past, games were far more expensive.

What? My point is that it isn't a new full game. It's only part of one. And how expensive games were over a decade ago isn't really relevant.

Sorry, that second part was more of a fun fact, I just forgot to label it as such. That's what I get for multitasking.
Anyway my first point still stands, and I'm pretty sure Super Mario Maker is a full game.
Millions of people will be making multiple levels for a few years. You'll have an unlimited number of levels to play. You'll get your moneys worth and more. New Super Mario Bros U has 82 levels. I'm certain more than 82 will be made by users.

I think the second they started pushing the game so hard, it was abundantly clear it was a full $60 game. Considering all the crazy things you can do in the game, I kind of understand.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
Littlebigplanet already did the level editor thing. It was part of a full game. The Elder Scrolls has a full construction kit. Mario Maker is nothing new. Many games have done something like this before, but none of them have the gall to take out the game, just have the level maker in it, and then charge $60 for it. Nintendo has just been going down a road of greed, and it's going to catch up with them eventually as the situation gets worse and worse.
I doubt they'll give a full campaign. Not like a normal Mario game. I think they're gonna put a few samples that won't take more than 2-3 hours to go through. Possibly less.
I would think they would've already announced if they were going to do that. If you're gonna announce $60 price, it's best to justify it then, rather than later.
Name a single game made by Nintendo (in which the experience revolves around user-generated content) that didn't include a generous amount of premade content.
I really don't see the problem with them releasing a game that allows you to create your own levels however you want, has some pre-made levels to show off features of the level creator, and will offer virtually unlimited content thanks to ability to share levels online. Seems like plenty of content to justify the price if you ask me. Just remember, The Order 1886 released at $60 as well

He's saying he doesn't think it's a full game. Frankly, I don't either. A level creator doesn't exactly scream "big budget game".

I don't know. Have they released any games like at $60 before? I could be wrong about this, but I can't see a LBP quality campaign coming out of this. Even if it's more than I expect, I don't see it justifying the price. We'll see who ends up being right I guess.
Even look at the original price of RPG Maker XP or VX, they're not cheap.
Those have a completely different purpose and market though.
...No, they're the same, Mario Maker you're making a 2D Mario game, RPG Maker you're making an RPG, simple as that. Both tools give you tons of stuff to work with.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I did say before that I wouldn't pay $60 for it. And maybe I still won't, but I am extremely impressed by how robust it is. They confirmed the NWC levels will be in there at launch, so maybe they'll have their own Developer-made worlds/levels? That's usually the case with Nintendo D.I.Y. games like Mario v. DK
