Finally finished Phantom hourglass after a long break. Honestly a really fun Zelda. B tier even.

Currently playing Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection. Still a lot of characters to "beat every game with everyone (including Hidden Characters)", but I'm slowly but surely working on it.

Already finished Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 and 2 as well as The Punisher. Next will be either X-Men: Children of the Atom or Marvel Super Heroes.

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball is now a hidden gem of the Nintendo 3DS.

Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube)
I beat the classic mode on very easy difficulty with Mario. I will just play a little bit here and there, to collect the trophies.

I now have a 7th game I managed to beat!

7 Doki Doki Literature Club (mobile)

Wow. Just wow. This game was intense. I went in practically completely spoiler free and even with the content warnings, I still got genuinely surprised by some of the stuff in here. Sayori hanging herself actually made me cry a little, which has never happened for me during a video game before. And the plot twist ending spooked the heck out of me.

But I did overall enjoy my time with the game. Even though I couldn't officially download it on the Google Play Store, using an xapk installer to get the game downloaded on my phone was worth it after all (and it wasn't pirating, since the regular game itself is free). I like it enough to support it by buying the Plus version on either PC or Switch (or both) at some point.

As for my favorite girl in the game, I guess I'll go with Natsuki.

I just beat Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and I adored every single minute of it. I have been missing this series for so many years, and Metroid Prime Remastered did help tide me over, but having beaten the trilogy multiple times I needed something new. Prime 4 managed to deliver exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended, especially for players new to the series. It's definitely designed in a way to prevent frustrations getting lost or wasting an hour of time going the wrong way, and is more linear than prior entries which lends itself well to new players.

I also beat Pragmata Sketchbook demo on Steamdeck. I have it pre-ordered on Switch 2 but since the demo isn't dropping until later I decided to go ahead and dive in now. And I'm impressed. It takes a minute to click, but once it does and you have both hemispheres of your brain firing on all cylinders, using reflexes while shooting and dodging enemies at the same time you're puzzle solving via the hacking grid, it hooks you in a way very few games have even attempted. The World Ends With You on DS is probably the only one I can think of that engages your brain in such a way.

I also beat Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade demo on Switch 2. So glad I decided to put the controller down all those years ago and wait, as I thought, "Surely this will get ported to Nintendo's next-gen console". And here it is. Fantastic port. Save data transfers and you get an in-game bonus for playing the demo.

And while I haven't beaten them, I've been diving in deep into Divinity Original Sin 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2.

Tanookduke

Mighty switch force 2 (3ds eshop)

Slightly better level design and puzzle design than the first game. Still falls into the same design holes as the first (health points feel pointless, still very easy to take damage). The water blaster was fun to use though.

The tanookduke strikes again!

NeonPizza

Shovel Knight's main 2014 campaign 'Treasure of Hope'
This game really starts to pick up just over half way through, once you've aquired different armor('Acrobatic' Gold being my favourite of the bunch), move sets & sub-weapons. It's basically DuckTales meets Zelda II meets Mega Man meets Castlevania, combined with it's own unique spin thanks to the shovel/digging mechanic which I don't think I've never experience before in any 2D retro platformer.

This game desserves no less than a 9/10 or 8.5 at worst. The soundtrack alone will give most of the traditional classic Mega Man series a run for their money too. My only real gripe is that the town related/village hub isn't all that interesting, and after maxing out your health with Meat Ticket upgrades as you progress it has a negative impact on the challenge.

You'll find yourself getting wreckless and not being quite on your toes because you've obviously got more life at your disposal compared to what you originally start out with, which is less than half of what you obtain before you max out completely. And man, I almost feel like picking up a physical copy for this because I enjoyed it so much. Same thing applies to Curse of the Moon and maybe Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit. Even though they'll most likely eat dust bunnies on a shelf and never get used, because I have them digitally, which spells convient.

Now i just need to wrap up the challenge mode, and FINALLY move on to Mega Man 11 already. 😙 I've put this bugger off for 7 years since since 2018.

Gonna keep this shorter, because I realized my previous response here was super long!

I recently finished Doki Doki Literature Club! on mobile. I have heard of it and did know a bit about what happens in the game, but I was curious and finally got to try it for the first time, as I found out recently that it received an Android and iOS port.

Although it’s a bit short, it was a pretty good game, and an awesome subversion of the visual novel and dating sim genre. The horror elements were super chilling! I could handle the scarier elements of the game, but I actually got a bit nervous and somewhat jumpy during parts of the game, especially the entirety of Act 2 (they did a pretty good job at making Yuri extremely creepy to be around) and some of the glitches and distortions that appear suddenly and unexpectedly. Although I have seen a bit of the more spoilery scenes, they are far more chilling experiencing them for yourself. Again, great game, and it absolutely succeeded in making me scared.

@Pastellioli,

"but I actually got a bit nervous and somewhat jumpy during parts of the game, especially the entirety of Act 2"

I just finished the game myself on mobile a few days ago, and I'll say it right now, Act 2 kind of tested my will to continue 😅 (I'm not into a lot of horror stuff). But I persevered and absolutely loved it. And they did do a good job with Yuri in particular, especially at the tail end of the second act. May I ask who your favorite girl character is? Mine is Natsuki.

Tanookduke

TLOZ: Skyward Sword
The only legend of zelda game so far that I've beaten without a guide or looking up answers online. The stamina meter is pretty annoying here though, and confirms my reasons for not trying breath of the wild. The motion controls meant that I couldn't play it for more than an hour per session, but I bet it's better on the switch re-release.

The tanookduke strikes again!

Pastellioli

@Nep-Nep-Freak Yep, I found the ending for Act 1 chilling and sad (especially with how regretful the player character feels) but I think a lot of the stuff that happens after Act 1 is far more chilling and creepy. Act 2 especially, mainly coming from Yuri’s unpredictable behavior and some of the scenes with her, but the ones that I found the most chilling was when she stares at the player in the dark with a very creepy look on her face and her prolonged death scene at the end of Act 2, though I think me playing the game late at night made it way scarier. Act 3 though, was way less scary out of the entire game since you now know what was going on the entire time.

As for favorite character, I honestly liked most of them equally, but I’d say Sayori. Her kind personality makes her very charming and likable, and her death at the end of Act 1 was scary but also sad, especially knowing that you can’t do anything to prevent it.

Just beat Milano's Odd Job Collection. This entire game was adorable, and wholesome. Story goes is 11 year old Milano's parents have to go away to the hospital, and she is sent to live with her uncle, who's also away. So she decides to take up some jobs.

Game is fun, it's a mini-game collection, you play a "job" each day, and earn money that can be used to earn stuff to decorate your home with. I got myself a TV, a game console, and a flute, which Milano can play with or use after she's home. Jobs include milking flying cows, serving fast food, delivering pizza, just to name a few.

Overall, loved this one, and the ending was nice too, but I won't spoil it. I played the PC version from GOG (friend gave it to me for Christmas), but it's also on Switch for those interested. Also, low-key hoping this gets a physical release on the consoles.

Here's a trailer just for those who never heard of it.

I'm just going to tag @Anti-Matter since this seems like a game he would like.
