I'm still going to a Francophone school to which I have gone to for around 10 years. I have been in two different English schools, one year each.
Everything is taught in French, except for English class and Spanish class, obviously. It's really not that hard, the French language, though some trouble my classmates and I have is that there are a lack of works written in this wonderful language. We have to do translations of about everything we read from English to French. It's annoying sometimes, but hey, that's life.
So where do you live? From your story I was thinking Canada, but I wanted to make sure. I'm half Mexican and was brought up on my mother's (the Mexican) side, so I was forced to take Spanish for 6 years, from middle all the way until the end of high school. I had always been more interested in Japanese and French, so of course, like anything one has no interest in but is forced to learn, I haven't retained any of it. I was speaking better Japanese than Spanish after only 1 year of study, and already I know more French as well.
@LittlePussyCat0 Of course, I welcome the Quebecois as well! I'd love French speakers from all over to join this thread. I did live in Canada for a time (Alberta of course, all the way on the other side of the country) so I do appreciate the Canadiens.
Unlike the vanishing of the French speakers in the Cajan areas, you guys are still going strong.

Oui, bonjour! All the cool French speakers come from Quebec. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, lol.
C'est d'après mon avis, au moins. Il y a plein de personnes qui parlent avec l'accent dans mon école est c'est meilleur chose au monde.
Hey, everyone, just like the Japanese thread, if we could please post translations or explain what exactly is being said in English as well as another language, I'd appreciate it. These threads come quite closely to violating the 'English only' rule, and I don't want to have to lock them down. Thanks in advance! :3

Yes, I live in Canada, province British Columbia, best place on earth. (Just kidding that's our old slogan.)
I am surprised as I too have a Mexican mother. She came to Canada with my dad who had met her there. I only know a bit of Spanish... I can read books to a certain extent and understand it but I would be lost alone. My mother has always wanted to teach me but I wasn't interested when I was young. I took only a year in Spanish but it was a beginners class and was a walk in a park.
One of the reasons I get to attend a Francophone school is because I have French last name. It comes from my father's side (but he can't speak any French at all... it's funny, really.)
I really do want to learn Japanese... I bet it's so cool! I'm jealous, Japanese would probably be so handy for me... In terms of hobbies such as anime and JRPG and such.
Say what now?

lol yeah... we always knew we were the cool ones
Hey, I'm from France and I'm cool too!
By the way, I don't eat snails... or frogs!
Its totally fine if you did. Do whatever you want.
And come on guys, respect what @theblackdragon said. I made this thread for language discussion, and nobody is really doing that, just posting random French without any discussion of it and no translation at all.
