jump

@Anti-Matter It's hardly vague, it's a pretty direct question.

I definitely played games before this one but probably the earliest I can remember is One Must Fall. Which you can actually play here: https://archive.org/details/msdos_One_Must_Fall_2097_1994 It says it released in 1994 but may have been playing it a bit before then? Not sure. But I definitely remember playing it a lot. There was also the platformer Captain Comic and another game I've never been able to remember or figure out what it was called

Possibly going further back, my brother brought himself a Sega Master System for cheap after the Mega Drive came out so I definitely played Alex Kidd in Miracle World and also this game.... which doesn't hold up well at all. I believe there were a few others. Not sure if this was before or after One Must Fall, definitely around '92-95

And there's a also a family story about me being around 2 and being mesmerised by a game at my cousin's house. Which I susspect, with the timing, may well have been Super Mario Bros. But I don't remember that

Atic Atac, or Jetpac, or maybe Sabre Wulf (48k)

Gaming would be so different without the Stamper brothers

If we're including arcades, then Space Invaders during a family summer holiday on the south coast. If we're keeping it consoles, then Pong round at a family friends house.

I've just aged myself, haven't I !

If you're talking about arcade games, the first arcade game I remember playing is Gun Fight (1975).

It was at someone's birthday party. We were at a restaurant and there was this TV thing in the corner that we all wanted to check out. LOL.

I have vague memories of Yoshi and Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES, and A Link to the Past on the SNES.

We also had an old computer with a weird medicine game where you would pick a patient, go into their body, and shoot the disease out of them….

The first game I played proper all by myself, not limited to what my older brother would let me play, was Pokémon Blue on the Game Boy.

It was either Tetris or Super Mario Land 2 on the Gameboy. I usually claim Super Mario Land 2 as my first video game, and it was my favorite 2D Mario until the original NSMB in 2006. I want to say I started playing when I was 6 in 1998.

Super Mario Bros. on NES via the SMB/Duck Hunt cart.

I don't remember much other than pausing it before falling into a pit so Mario wouldn't die, lol. Don't remember this next part, but apparently (according to my brother) I'd jump out of bed in the middle of the night pretending to be Mario.
