People seem to be disappointed by these. I think the update SE released for the mobile versions of III and IV pretty much prepared me mentally. I fully expected these new versions to come to mobile and also expected them to be 2D. So it’s like, I just received confirmation of what I already expected. I think that’s why I’m completely unbothered.
@VIIIAxel I think that might actually be from FFIII, it looks a lot like the edge of the floating continent.
@Eel Ah, III's the other one from the first six I haven't played through all the way (and I've only played the 3D remake) so I'm not surprised I mixed those up by accident. Were there any shots of V then? I mostly just noticed I-IV.
Also, I'm similarly fine with this collection. I've honestly wanted just a Collection of Mana-style emulated collection of these games for years given how spotty their re-releases have been, but I like the style they're going with here as well. I do wish it was coming to console (I don't mind mobile releases as well), but I'll still get them on Steam (and mostly likely again on Switch if they ever come over there...).

Hm. True! I don’t really see any obvious scenes from V. I’m not super familiar with that one though. Perhaps they’re saving those two games for future trailers?
@Eel Given that they said these will all be released separately, I'm kind of wondering if I-IV will come out pretty soon and V and VI will take longer. Maybe they'll end up porting them over to consoles once they're all out, too. They might see it as being easier to sell as a bundle or something on those platforms, especially since it would give them the option to do a physical release if they want.

@Eel I'd definitely be sad having to wait longer for V and VI, but if they're solid remasters, I don't mind too much. I-IV will help keep people busy until then, too! I'm just glad they're finally giving these games (hopefully) good releases. I was worried it would just be the existing mobile/Steam ports on consoles at first.

That would certainly make sense, @VIIIAxel .... It might be 1 a month or something, then when the last one is coming, they announce a Switch collection! I'm waiting for more details on them, anyway, since I do already have all the ones on Steam now & am not sure I'll find it worth getting them
@BruceCM I already have III and IV on Steam, but I do like that the pixel remasters for those will be really different from the current releases. The 3D remake of IV is my favorite FFIV release, but it'll be cool to get a remaster of the original version as well! I remember hearing Steam FFIII got an update last year or so that caused a lot of problems, so assuming that wasn't fixed, this will be a nice alternative as well. I passed on the Steam versions of V and VI since I wasn't a fan of how those were handled, so I'm definitely looking forward to their remasters, and it's great I and II are finally getting PC releases as well. I definitely get wanting to hold off for more details if you've already got the current releases, though! I'm hoping we hear more soon, I'm really excited.

Cool, @VIIIAxel .... I know some people will prefer these versions, so I'm glad they're coming! I'll probably get FFI at least on Steam & it's entirely possible I'll get some of the others! Definitely not II, though, I'm not going to try that game again Given how little they showed so far, I think 'more details' are pretty much guaranteed to be coming! Like actual release date(s)
I do wish it was coming to console (I don't mind mobile releases as well), but I'll still get them on Steam (and mostly likely again on Switch if they ever come over there...).
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Yeah, that all looks promising, @Slowdive .... I'd like to know details, like which version of FFIV they based the pixel remaster on, though! I'd imagine it's the GBA one but it'd be awesome if it was actually the PSP Complete Collection, so had After Years, etc, as well
The little screenshots do show controller inputs. Though if those are exclusive to steam or not, we don't know for sure.
I think its safe to assume mobile will get controller support though, since the current versions already have it. Except for I and II, those are stuck looking like first-generation iPhone apps... So these remasters will be all-around improvements for those two games, assuming they don't cut the extra content.
