Topic: Farming Sim Games Thread

@Allspice Not sure about that one, I would personally say yes. I already pre-ordered it, but I think a lot of people may be put off by the Factorio-esque style of gameplay but it seems to have reviewed well though. I'll add it in xD Not sure who cares but it's fun to see a list format of how saturated the market is at the moment.

Can we just merge this thread with the Nintendo direct one? we all know farming sims are going to be the only thing in the direct. /s

@Nintendencies It's good to hear Nova Lands has been received well so far. I really enjoyed the demo.

And yeah, we are swimming in farming sims right now. Do you have Paleo Pines on the list? It comes out on September 26th.

This year there are so many Farming Sim games such as Far Farm , Paleo Pines , Harvest Moon The Winds of Anthos , Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life , Fantasy Life i for Switch, etc

I have never feel so excited to play more and more cute Farming sim games as that genre is my gaming forte.

First gameplay of Harvest Moon : The Winds of Anthos on PS5 version.
I saw the frame rate was really good, 50 - 60 fps.

Orange Season will get physical release on consoles including PS5 due to 1 November 2024.
Another farming sim games with 2D graphic like Stardew Valley style.

I haven't heard of Orange Season before. It looks nice and has decent reviews on Steam, so I'll keep an eye out for the Switch version.

Surprise, surprise!
Overthrown is upcoming farming sim games with Zelda + Minecraft style.
You can lift the buildings, the trees even the people's.
Looks like you can only play as female character but better wait for further trailer.

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar
The Remake version have two new bachelor and bachelorette.
So far the confirmed names based on Japanese version are Arata and Diana

Demo gameplay of Fantasy Life I.
The gameplay based on PS5 version as you can see Cross, Triangle, Circle, buttons from the video and of course... the smooth 60 fps gameplay.
Interesting part, it has very same songs like from 3DS version.

Speaking about farming activity mechanism in farming sim games or other games that have farming activity, I have tendency to arrange the planting field in 3 x 3 squares as I have played a lot from Harvest Moon Back to Nature and when I played other farming sim games with big area to plant, I mostly made 3 x 3 squares to plant with distance 1 square each other planting area so it will looks good to look from aesthetic aspect.
The other farming sim games like Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life, since the planting area is limited, I placed the 3 x 3 squares close next to other plants to keep the aesthetic aapect.
Tree of Tranquility was the odd one, with 1 x 6 squares.
I prefer the crops arranged in square planting area than very long line of the crops like in Tree of Tranquility.
Even on Fantasy Life I, the planting area is 3 x 3 square, it looks cute.
Fantasy Life I have some creative idea to make the crops have multiple variants of the same crops and added with the Boss monster version that looks too good to be eaten.
I would like to see some whimsical looking crops idea for other variant of normal crops.
A Wonderful Life already had the idea of hybrid crops with swapped color crops & weird looking crops plants.
