I'm excited for E3. In the past, there longer presentations, yes, but that was because they were presenting games for two platforms. Now, it is confirmed they'll focus only on Switch games, so no pesky alternating between 3DS and Wii U games.
Plus, there have been new games (usually middleware tier) announced on the Treehouse segment, Ever Oasis was announced like that last year.
Now, if you were expecting something like Sony's E3, yeah, be disappointed. It won't be like that. I'm happy it isn't like that because honestly, they usually sell smoke and mirrors. FF VII remake? Dev hell. Death Stranding? Kojima, nuff said.
At least with Nintendo I know I'll be playing those games this year, next at most.
Since FE Warriors, Odyssey, and Splatoon 2 are going to be there, I think it'll be a great one. Best E3 of all time? Maybe not. But from the sound of things, it's going to be far, FAR from "disappointment".
I was joking when I said "E3 2015 DX: ELECTRIC POKEMON BOOGALOO" the other day, but now I'm genuinely worried...
As long as they have Mario Odyssey, FE Warriors, and Xenoblade 2 I'll be satisfied, but something tells me a majority of people are going to be awfully disappointed/annoyed/pissed.
Looking at it now, I kind of hope it's just one big trailer compilation and the actual gameplay is reserved for the Treehouse. Doubt that'll happen, though.
Based on the past year or so, I don't think it makes a huge difference if it's a smaller event as long as their big, interesting games that would get people to buy the Switch are shown off well.
But at the same time...it's like...if they're not gonna have even an hour...why? Does not showing off a cool trailer for a game...good for them? In any way? "Man, I was gonna get the Switch version of Steep based on gameplay or what I've heard about the game in general but that trailer was way too hype! NOW IT LOOKS LIKE GARBAGE!!1!!" - literally no one
They still have lots of time to shorten it even more.
It will actually be just Reggie coming to the screen, apologizing that they really just forgot to make the video and then have a footage of Mario shaving his moustache for 11 minutes.
25 minutes with probably 5 wasted on some Xenoblade interview/amiibo garbage + the trailer — then another 5 on Rabbids — sounds pretty bad. I don't see what Go Nintendo cited as 25 minutes, or how they would have that information — does anyone else?
At this rate the Zelda DLC would be a negative, because their E3 show is already so short and it's not going to be anywhere near comparable to a full game with how long that team takes to develop even a modicum of content since 2006.
Still, like I said, I'm pretty excited for Mario coming out this November (probs) though that's a given. If they announce Monster Hunter XX for August 25th in the west or a worthy-looking Metroid Prime I'll be good with it. Mario Strikers and of course a worthy Paper Mario would be the other two things that could sate my interest, but of course it's too soon after those studios' latest releases to announce anything, especially with Intelligent Systems putting all of their work into Fire Emblem with none left for a quality Mario story.

In the April Direct they covered ~30 games in 35mins and had time to talk about Amiibo, the Switch dock, New Joycon colours and the Joycon Battery pack. They effectively went through one item per minute. Sure 25mins could be chewed up almost entirely with a long interview with the developers of Arms. They could spend a lot of time going on about new Amiibo or online services. But they could just as easily put a logo on the screen for 20 seconds and send the internet into meltdown.
The length tells us absolutely nothing.

So true. Also notice how they call it a 'spotlight' now? Surely our ways of measuring this presentation is outdated.
Surely they can extend the length of time itself. They can distort the reality in order to fill over 35 hours of gameplay, trailers and interesting tidbits into mere 25 minutes.
@Timppis
They have the treehouse for gameplay and interviews. And trailers are typically only 1-3mins long. I know you want to be all doom and gloom, that's why you created this thread. But let's be real here we don't know what will be shown. Put down the pitchforks.
One might argue, as I did in the original statement.
That all news and evidence so far points to horrible E3 showing and that was the main point of this thread.
Trying to paint the slums in bright colors might work to some Brazilian bureaucrat but if you look most of the Nintendo fansites and nintendo forums there is legitimate concern and worry.
Besides Nintendo E3 without Nintendo Shenanigans is no show at all.

And I'm saying that we don't know how good or bad they will be at E3 until after the fact. Them doing an info-dump before E3 is a common thing across the industry. They had a press-release about online so they don't have to talk about online at E3. They had a Directs about Pokemon, Arms and 3DS so they don't have to spend time talking about that stuff at E3. Less time on that stuff? More time to talk about new content. Them not holding onto that stuff for an E3 reveal is a positive thing.
Then you change tact and whine about the 30mins for the main presentation. To which I've pointed to their most recent presentation where they went through a lot of content fairly rapidly. In theory? If you cut their last Direct off at about 25mins long they would have had time to talk about:
Hey! Pikmin, Ever Oasis, Monster Hunter Stories, YO-KAI WATCH 2: Psychic Specters, Culdcept Revolt, RPG Maker Fes, Miitopia, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, Kirby's Blowout Blast, BYE-BYE BOXBOY!, Zelda/Smash amiibo, ARMS, New Joy-Con Color & Battery Pack, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers!, Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition, NEOGEO Arcade Archives, Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania, Project Mekuru, Fate/Extella, Disgaea 5 Complete, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Monopoly, Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition
Do I expect their main show at E3 to have that amount of content? Well no, probably not. A lot of the content in the April Direct was a lot less significant than what you'd usually see at E3. But equally I think it's wrong to assume that they'll be spending 5mins on each game and have nothing new or exciting to show. Length doesn't tell you everything and neither does the quantity of titles. What matters is whether or not the two or three suprise announcements are notable. Case and point Nintendo's show at E3 2008 was 65mins long and gave us Wii Music, Animal Crossing and Wii Sports Resort. This year has a new Mario, it's already above average
@Timppis Legitimate concern and worry? ..just because people don't have crystal balls allowing them to see the future doesn't mean that their concerns are 'legitimate' - they're just being pessimistic.

@Aozz101x There's one on June 15 as well. I don't think this means unannounced games though. One of them is going to be Mario Odyssey for sure, so I think it's likely some of them are going to be games we already know about.
