@skywake I don't think they're going to skip the 3DS completely. I'm positive Pokemon will make an appearance. They may even show some Pokken Tournament. Zelda DLC will be there in some shape or form. And they're not skipping ARMS either, it's coming out the Friday after. The Direct is an easy way to remind people the game exists, especially since far less people watch the Treehouse segments. And of course, Skyrim, Steep and all of that. I expect two ''new'' announcements; Mario/Rabbids and something else (Pikmin 4 or Animal Crossing, to tie in with the mobile game). Of course, this is also assuming they don't have those dev interviews in there.
@MarcelRguez Oh, I thought grammer police covered all things English related on the net! My bad (I even spelt grammar wrong for effect!) Anyways, I just don't want people bringing the vibe down if they do show 3DS stuff or have a meltdown for showing Amiibo stuff. As for mobile...eek!
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@MarcelRguez I hope there will be some dlc for MK8D, but dlc seems to be determined before the game is released. Zelda BotW, Arms, and Splatoon already have dlc announced. As we are playing MK8D now with no mention, I can only hope it is an after thought :/ Especially as MK8D might be considered already 'complete'.
I think we can take off the mainline Fire Emblem. We're unlikely to see that until the end of the year.
I'm thinking something like this:
6-7mins: Super Mario Odyssey
4-5mins: Mario + Rabbids
2mins: Xenoblade 2
2mins: Fire Emblem Warriors
1.5mins: Splatoon 2
1min: ARMS & Pokken
That leaves a good 10-15 minutes for new reveals besides Mario + Rabbids. Also don't think we'll actually see any 3rd party or indie reels, but if we do that's only about 2 minutes or so.
I think a "notable" portion of the Spotlight will focus on Mario Odyssey...5-10 minutes. It won't dominate half of it, but it WILL be the "flagship" of the event (as well it should be, it's the only franchise that has still topped Pokemon in gross sales.) Nothing wrong with having a featured title in the Spotlight as the headliner, but I don't think it will consume everything else.
I'm predicting another 2015 response from people on this site and other fans on the web, not because the games are bad, but because people don't know how to control their excitement. Mario alone knocks 2015 out of the park, and there's more than just that. We might even get more reveals on the Treehouse, a la Codename S.T.E.A.M, Devil's Third and Ever Oasis. But people are going to be mad because "NO METROID!!! I HATE YOU NINTENDO!!!" or some other BS that no normal person bought into.
@MarcelRquez I dunno. I don't think the Pokemon Direct two days ago tempered many people's expectations. Hype was through the roof for that one for no reason. I see a similar thing happening. I don't think many people learned their lesson. We'll always have someone be disappointed. I think a lot of people will be this year because of overly-high expectations. E3 will most likely turn out well for those of us that don't lose our heads due to hype.
@MarcelRquez Agreed. I for one am excited for E3 as a whole. I spend all week just watching everything I can, because it's an experience for me. I'm most excited for Nintendo because I believe they'll show off the most of what I want. I still don't have a Switch, but I'm excited to see Mario, Xeno 2, FE Warriors and whatever else they decide to show. I'm not expecting Metroid, or Retro's new game, or SMT V or any of that, cause that's not the focus this year. The only way I'd be disappointed is if they use 20 mins of the 30 minute show for Mario without showing anything amazing off, and then not show much during the Treehouse. But I doubt that would happen. I'm sort of hoping for a surprise reveal or two during a round-table or something like how they did Codename STEAM a few years back, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I think this pessimistic atmosphere will end up making things worse, because when Ninty doesn't show off Metroid or whatever, the crazy people that are already mad about Stars will only complain more for no reason.
@MarcelRguez I personally don't mind reveals during Treehouse, but to me it makes a lot more sense to reveal everything in a Direct or other video presentation.

I'd personally like to see an Etrian Odyssey V and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux segment one day. I'd love to see those. And maybe a new "AA" Nintendo IP like STEAM. Not everything has to be AAA like some people on the internet believe
@MarcelRguez@Monado_X I think a possible Treehouse reveal would be that Superstar Saga DX that was leaked on the eShop update servers. Would make for a great Ever Oasis/Code Name STEAM type reveal.
Beyond that I'm also expecting the Ever Oasis demo and Kirby's Blowout Blast to get the "available right now" announcement during Treehouse.
