Just saw the new Avengers. Thought it was great, but you could certainly tell it was that movie in the series that is used to set other things up instead of being that big film.
(Spoilers) (SPOILERS) For those that have seen it, I'd like to know what you make of Hulk's exit? I have to say I saw it coming. I want it to be the setup for Planet Hulk but that wasn't in the lineup of movies for Marvel. We can only hope.

I felt like it could setup a movie to lead into Planet Hulk but I don't think that will happen. Something in Avengers 3 could set up a Planet Hulk movie but I just don't think a Planet Hulk movie would be that great. I think a lot of people would find it boring.

Avengers was much better upon the second viewing. My standouts are the new kids and Hawkeye.

Or find Planet Hulk stupid, it's basically Gladiator with Russell Crowe replaced by Hulk.

I liked Age of Ultron, but wasn't blown away. It's really growing on me the more I think about it though. I think it's a 4/5 movie. The Vision stole the show for me.

Netflix Daredevil was crazy good though. Probably the best comic book serial adaptation I've ever seen. Far above anything else recent by either Marvel or DC.

Season 2 of Agents of SHIELD coming to a close. I'm not wowed by the show in general, but it's a decent hour-a-week time waster. That action scene with Skye last week was fantastic though. Great choreography, great camerawork, and Chloe Bennet really showed off some athleticism.

I enjoyed the Avengers movie more then I thought I would. I'm not big on AI enemies in movies or robots as enemies in general but it was done in a good way to hold my interest all the way through. Now the next movie is where I'm at. Really looking forward to both that and the next Cap!

Personally, Spider-Man is my fave Avenger followed closely by Captain Marvel.

I see these types of lists all the time and I always disagree with them. Which Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell or Ms Marvel?

Yeah, i disagree with them too. And Mar-Vell is who i'm referring too. Ms. Marvel is too recent for me to even know what that's all about.

CaviarMeths

Whoever voted Wolverine on that should feel silly.

Definitely agree with the #1 choice though. Captain America is just definitively the Avenger. Actually, the only one I disagree with in the top 10 is She-Hulk. Switch her out for Beast and I think that would be my top 10.

Captain Marvel is the case of a character who has inorganically became popular though the internet. The Carol Corps as her fanbase rallied around the character as Marvel gave Carol a mini push and basically two book back in 2011 a bit before Mavel now started. I love Cap M and I even have a Carol Corp shirt, but for as hard as Marvel pushes her and her fanbase votes and pumps her up her book doesn't sell particular well if you look at the Diamond sales. Even if you look at the digital sells going by comixology its never in the top ten while its Sister book Ms.Marvel is always nearly is. The books is changing into Carol Corps books for Secret Wars to further cash in those brownie points with her fanbase.

I love Carol but lets be honest her book is only being propped up by the fact that they're a movie coming, and her movie is coming because honestly without the X-men marvel's female characters marvel has slim pickings. I think we could see a sales bump for the Captain Marvel book if Kelly Thompson takes over as rumored and the book gets more of a focus.

Kelly Thompson getting Captain Marvel? I'd LOVE that. Been reading her column on portrayal of female characters in comics for years. It would be pretty amazing if she got to write one of Marvel's biggest females.

She's co-writing the Secret Wars Captain Marvel book with it rumored that she's taking over in september.

People talk about Dawn of Justice being Bloated but man the Cast for Civil War is Huge. Right now we have

Captain America
Iron Man
The Winter Solider
Black Widow
Falcon
Hawkeye
Scarlet Witch
The Vision
War Machine
Sharon Carter
Crossbones
Black Panther
Spider-man
Baron Zemo
Ant-man
General Thunderbolt Ross
Martian Freeman in an unknown role

I hope this movie doesn't make the mistake Age of Ultron did and just go ahead with the three hour running time.

Yeah, we knew about Black Panther, but this is confirmation for Ant-Man too. Martin Freeman just got cast in an unspecified role too, wonder what that's all about. His buddy Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Strange, so maybe that was his "in."

I'm not really sure why it's a Captain America movie at this point and not just Marvel Civil War. They really only scratched the surface of the Winter Soldier arc, and I hope they don't try and finish it off in this movie with everything else going on.

Huh? Cut out the closing credits and Avengers 2 is 2:15. I/wish/ it was three hours so they could actually flesh that storyline out better.

Also, I think it's going to get harder and harder for Marvel to ignore the appeal in a Black Widow movie. She's had a significant role in four movies now and definitely has a fanbase. Lucy being a box office hit despite an R (or equivalent) rating and mixed critical reception should have been Marvel's clue that Scarlet Johansson can successfully lead an action film.

I think that is what he means. I hopes Civil War doesn't cut out a bunch of stuff to make it a 2:15 movie that has weird ump cuts and instead lets itself run for 3 hours.

I am really looking forward to the extended edition of Age of Ultron.

Ah yes, after rereading his sentence I get it now. In that case, I totally agree!
