Topic: End of Sprite-Based games from Nintendo?

I just had an odd thought while watching footage from Pokémon X & Y. Pokémon has always been sprite based (as far as the main series goes), and now it is finally moving to 3D models, likely never to return. I really can't think of a single game coming from Nintendo that will be sprite-based. I think Mario & Luigi Dream Team may have been the last, and it has quite a bit of 3D models already. Not that this is a bad thing... it's just a thing. But it gives me a weird feeling. What are your thoughts on this?

Well, if you count Kirby, then the next portable Kirby could be sprite-based. It is weird thinking that the whole sprite based thing is ending/ended.

We had Mario and Luigi Dream Team's Sprite based graphics along-side 3d Graphics.. so it's hard to say for sure...

It will be a shame to see sprites go away, the Snes/Mega Drive games, and a few games during the PS1 and Saturn era, particularly the Capcom fighters, had some of the best artwork of any game in my opinion.
