So, I never sold anything on that site, but I was thinking about it. I ended up getting the Hyrule Historia as a gift, pretty awesome, right? The problem?...I already have it. xD
I was talking with my family about trying eBay or something, but my dad was talking about you having to pay to sell...I'm trying to make money here, not spend it. So I'm asking around the net...anybody sold stuff on there? How does it work exactly? Was also thinking about doing an auction for the book, I know there are some extremely insane Zelda fans out there, lol.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
That is correct, they charge a fee for everything you sell, up front and at the end. It's been too long for me to remeber the exact amount, but it's in the FAQ on eBay, hold on...
The fees grow with the amount you charge, both at the beginning and the end. It's always a good idea to charge low at the beginning so the amount you pay upfront is low (and it draws in more customers). Not much you can do about the amount they charge at the end, though.
They take roughly 10%+ of your sale in the middle of the month following the sale, straight out of your paypal account. I've sold stuff on ebay. It's pretty easy. Just make sure you state in your listing that you want Paypal only from buyers.. it's annoying dealing with checks/money orders for various reasons.
What about when it comes to auctions? I think I still have PayPal, but dunno if they cancel accounts or something if its not used for a period of time.
I mean, I'm wanting to try the auction...but if the amount they charge increases with the price, wouldn't it end up being pointless?

I'm talking about auctions, I have no experience with Buy It Now. Sorry, I should have been specific. I've sold one item for a real high price and like I said, they took about 10%. If you sell something for $1000 you can bet they're going to take about $90-$100. That's really not a bad deal.. the problem is, is the item they want in demand? If I were you, I'd go to ebay, search for your item. Once you've searched, click the "Sold Listings" box on the side of the screen. See what other peoples auctions are selling for and decide if you think it's worth it for you.
Yeah.. I remember seeing the special edition for $70 for sale on TFAW and kicking myself for not buying it.. it sold out in a few hours and were selling on ebay the next week for $300.00+, lol. That sucked.
Anyways.. apparently Paypal takes 2.9% from sales, too.. I never even knew that until now when I looked it up. Selling stuff there is easy and convenient, which you're paying for. You could try to sell it on Craigslist and be low-balled constantly.. or you could just throw it on eBay and be done with it. It hurts when you don't get what you think it's worth.. that's why you have to look and see what they're going for. I tend to only put items on that I know haven't been on recently or have been on recently and seem pretty popular/sell for a good amount.
If you decide to put it on ebay.. just have it so the auction starts at the lowest you'd expect for it and let the bidders decide from there.
...or, just regift if it doesn't seem like it's worth the hassle. Scratch that. Why regift when you can get money for yourself?
