So, I know that selling most forms of Stanley blades (disposable, retractable etc.) on eBay isn't allowed, and I'm fairly sure the same applies to the blades.
My question is, are you violating any eBay/laws if you buy these prohibited items? - and could eBay ban you for this.
Just to clarify, I'm over 18 (20) and use these blades on a daily basis; I just want to know if buying them online could affect me. Because for starters, how do hey confirm your age?
I know this is really random, but I'd really appreciate an answer.
Stanley blade? Like an exacto knife? I think this could be blamed on the seller if there is some kind of trouble. But it probably would be better to buy it from somewhere completely legal.
I believe that only the seller gets in trouble if there is something that breaks eBay's rules. I know I bought something that broke the rules. The listing was taken down after I bought it (there were around 20 for sale), but I didn't get in trouble. Glad I got it, too. It was a cheap product key for Windows 7.
So, buying something that is against the rules isn't bad that I know of.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Of course, the things are cheaper online, but there's always that thing in my mind that's not quite sure about buying an age restricted product off of the Internet.
Thanks for the reply.
I guess I just wanted to hear someone else say how I also felt about it.

The problem is, this is a lethal weapon. I mean, I've bought iffy stuff off the internet before (), but nothing harmful.
I don't think I'd ever buy the knife itself online l but it's the pre-pack blades that I'm debating.
To be honest, I can't really tell you. I'm not going to go digging through eBay's Terms and Conditions. I wouldn't do it if I was asking myself the same question.
If you're scared about your account, just make another one for your "iffy" purchases.

eBay verifies your age via your payment method. Paypal is a service owned by eBay, or vice-versa(I forget who owns who, but I believe eBay's the parent co.). Even if you don't own the account of (whatever) the payment method on file is, it still gives eBay/PayPal a paper trail of sorts to keep track of you. I am just now getting back into eBay, after having not sold there for just a little over a year. In that time, their rules have changed somewhat. But for the most part, a quick skim refresher looks like the items you could not sell before, are still not sale-able items. Just a word of caution, different buyer/seller accounts can have information that links them together, so if you honestly don't feel comfortable purchasing it, for fear of losing your ebay account(s), then don't purchase it. I would also suggest contacting eBay/Paypal themselves on the matter. That would give you a straight-from-the-horse's-mouth "official" stance on your question.
