There's about 30 different weapon manufacturers in the US.
At the very worst-case scenario (and let's pretend banks, medical and cigarette companies are all completely wholesome, shall we? Oh and DuPont, what with its AWESOME record of responsible chemical waste disposal, never hurt a soul) EA should be 31. That anyone would vote EA over a weapon's manufacturer just goes to show how messed up this society is.

Depends which one your taking about, just because they're a weapons manufacturer doesn't automatically mean their bad. Then again, the US Government probably wouldn't even let people vote for them considering their obsession of having more death machines than everyone else.
I think EA got above every other immoral money-maker because nothing they do is even sightly important.

I agree. I'll go out on a limb and assume that people voted for EA because of inconveniences like online passes, the notorious game bans based on forum behaviour, etc.
It's ridiculous - people should step back and have a think about what it really means when companies withhold life-saving drugs because people can't afford them, lobby for laws to be changed that give them increased profit at the expense of public interest and so on. I hardly think that a company whose practices introduce some annoyances for people who want to experience the (optional) entertainment products they make should rate that badly. (And no, I don't think that every company is evil - just some do some really, really awful things).
Sometimes I really want to distance myself from 'gamers'...
I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

EA makes too much pointless DLC and rehashes Madden yearly. That clearly makes them worse than Bank of America whose business practices have literally ruined lives. I hate gamers sometimes.
This pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject, especially that last part.
Wow. EA is not even close the worst company in America. Oh no, they're releasing a game that doesn't have a satisfying ending! They're the worst company EVAR! Give me a break.
Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?
I still need to point out that this would make sense if they meant video game company...in the year 2005 or 2004. I don't think they're really as bad anymore, especially compared to Activison being "EA but worse" or Capcom going insane.
So basically, even for internet video game fans specifically talking about video game companies, this doesn't make a lot of sense.
You've never been mugged before have you? Believe me, you'll wish you had a weapon then if you don't already have one.
That doesn't make weapons good. That makes them a necessary evil. That's assuming you don't think that that "right to bare arms" is quite possibly the dumbest thing that could possibly be written into a constitution.
That's off topic, but the point I was making is: even in the best possible circumstance using a weapon is a self defensive necessary evil. Under no circumstances is using a weapon a good thing, since its only purpose is to cause harm to other living things, and therefore the people that make weapons are, at best, supplying a necessary evil.
Which makes them far worse than a company that made a video game. A bit of entertainment. Yeah, EA is so much worse than those people supplying killing machines, right gamers?

Or Sony forgetting to update the security patch on the datacentre that held people's credit cards, right? THAT one at least had a real-world impact.
I'm not clear on whether "worst company" is meant in the context of its treatment of customers or whether it is meant to include external effects, but if the former alone, Comcast should surely beat EA by a landslide.

EA is actually a good company. People are still sore about the stuff they did back in the day. Or did they go back to being evil this year or something?
I still don't see how having the capacity to defend yourself is not a good thing, but whatever. Evil is subjective, and only really determined by what the majority can actually agree on, so I'm not gonna harp on the subject. And I think this poll alone proves that the majority can be very wrong sometimes.

Yeah, let's not get into political debate. I haven't got a bottle of red wine, a roaring fire or a monacle right now.
