If you own a new LG, Samsung, or Sony LED TV, you can speak to the above, in affect it will make a 30 fps game look roughly akin to 60 fps by creating artifical frames utilizing the televisions proccesors. I hear people (mostly pursuits) complain about latency, but to be honest, for the average gamer it's more than adequate. The only time I notice is when using streaming services like Playstation Now.......but when running a game from the hard drive, it's not noticiable.
I just wonder what the future ramifications are for gaming, considering you can now fake the 60fps experince on a 30fps game.
