Topic: Does anyone have a college radio show?

I have this radio show at my local university where I play video game music. And in between the songs, I explain the games they come from, and I throw in some news here and there about the industry. I'm wondering if anyone else but me has thought of this idea at their school?

I used to DJ for my college station, and I suggested a show very similar to this to the program director. She approved it, but I never got around to making it regular. What's your station?

KCSB...it's in Santa Barbara, CA. The station covers a fairly good radius....around 50 miles maybe.

The other week, me and a friend brought our DS Lites to the station and we played Mario Kart on the air by hooking up the auxiliary cord in the control room to the headphone jack of one of the DS Lites. While we were playing, she would call the action like a sports play by play commentator. It was fun.

I never was a college radio DJ...but for a full year I rocked the airwaves at a legit radio station on the Jersey Shore. 99.7, WBHX. I was Big Phil in the Morning, every weekend. It was lots and lots of fun. I used to get all kind of free CDs, concert tickets, and pizza. I lost my job with everybody else when some corporation bought us and replaced everybody with robots.

To this day I envy anyone who still has a job in radio. It's so much fun.

lol they didn't give me the best time slot. But if anyone does listen, there will be music from Mario, Ecco the Dolphin, Maniac Mansion, Final Fantasy, Mega Man, Sonic, and more probably. That is really awesome! What is your major at school? I have a friend in Broadcast Journalism that does his own show, but it is on sports, so I don't really listen.

English. I want to either be a professor in English one day...or if not a video game writer (although since there aren't that many video game writing jobs, I'm not sure I'll ever find one). But I figure taking English classes will help me either way.
