When people erase/save over your save file. I've had my cousins do it on several occasions and even my mom did it once, she wanted to play Harvest Moon and ended up erasing my File on a Wonderful Life where I was almost up to the twilight years chapter. Worse yet is when your memory card decides to ripe itself clean.

I think the hardest time I've ever had getting through a game due to save erasing issues was A Link to the Past. My save was wiped six times before I was able to complete it (it also wiped a seventh time, shortly after I 100% completed it)!
What's worse was that I had to work at the game one day a week (My SNES had long since stopped working by the time I got into the game, so I had to use the one at my grandma's house, which was there for us grandchildren when we were younger. Although I'll still play it every once in awhile when I visit). I'm not sure If it was because the game, system, or both were old, or if young kids visiting at other parts of the week were messing with my file without me knowing, but I had a hard time keeping a save.

I had the same problem. On Wind Waker, my brother erased my data for a friend that came over, on Super Mario Bros. 3, he erased the data 17 times! On Twilight Princess, Every time I made it to the Twilight Tower he erased it. 7 times I made back that progress, and then I just gave up. On Pokemon static electricity erased my data. So much loss of data....
I'm not saying let's kill all the stupid people, I'm just saying let's take off the warning labels, and see what happens.

When people use hax on poogeymanz, one time I went to school to play poogeymanz and then they're like "imma battle you" then they come at me with lv 100 shiny legendaries that one shot everything.
Or worse an "invincible" sableye with shedninja's ability. I know you can still kill it but I just spammed strong moves as a strategy so I was screwed.
The only guy I could beat that day was a guy that haxed a celebii lv 50 into his heart gold, I one-shot it, then after his team was level 18s.
My guess was he's at the beginning of the game, hacked a celebii and just used his normal game team.
my mom stole my gameboy color when i was is school, she didn't put it back, she put it somewhere ells, and when i found it it smelled like smoke, had a dozen more screen scratches, and my file on links awakening was deleted,
so i made a wooden footlocker in shop class and got a lock for it
