I have been, wouldn't say depressed, but down in the past and I found the best cure is to exercise.Go for a nice long run(or even a brisk walk if your not a runner) in the great outdoors.Clears your head and releases loads of feelgood chemicals in the body. A natural high is the only high I chase these days. I mean if it's really bad then yes see a doctor/psychologist but be careful before taking any pills they might give you as that will just mask the problems and could make things worse. If your down because of circumstances then try to change them, try and make more friends and resolve issues you have with family(if possible) and always try to see the positive in things(not always easy I know). At the end of the day we don't know how long we have got on this earth so try and make the most of everyday.
I used to have to take pills. For the longest time I took Paxil. Then one day I decided like what you said, I didn't want any pill masking my feelings.

on a serious note, if any of you do think you may have depression, please tell your parents, your school counselor, an adult you trust, and/or see a doctor IRL. only by seeking help IRL can you get the help you need — unfortunately, the Nintendo Life forums and Dr. Internet can't do anything for you.
